Leave it to Doc to turn a great Jamal 4th quarter performance into a horrible one by overplaying him. Also those refs sucked.

Well we wind up losing by 4. We didn't execute down the stretch and the Grizzlies made plays down the stretch. We gave up way too many 3s tonight.

We positioned ourselves well to win the game but it wasn't our night. I'm irritated by the loss and I probably won't make a game thread for a little bit.

I still say it's not your fault, man. This has to be a learning experience for Doc and the Clippers. We have to learn to start off our games better in consistent fashion and also have to execute down the stretch as well as close out games better. I've got to give the Grizzlies credit for sustaining our comeback and making the plays they needed to make. The referees were totally clueless tonight, though. I'm also not a fan of the increased complaining by Blake and the Clips even though they were justified for quite a few moments.

I know Ranma I just need time to cool off. I forgot to add we had a number of missed free throws too. We had chances to win but again this wasn't our night.

Maybe this loss lights a fire under us like the one against OKC did. Still, I was hoping we wouldn't see such a sloppy game for a while. You get straight up outplayed in the first half, somehow manage to claw your way back, then just gift it away (with some notable help from the refs) in the final minutes, all while making Conley and Gasol look like Curry and Durant from behind the line.

Even in defeat, this team showed me something that makes me believe they are primed for great things in the future. Hypothetically, cold shooting games like today would probably only happen once or twice a series, max, and they at least can compete even when adversity strikes. The rest of the games their execution can carry them through.

The only thing that bothered me this game was the foul on CP3 at the end. Makes me think that they will have to earn more than their fair share of calls in the playoffs, as usual.
I root for players always, organizations sometimes.

I don't know how I'm ever going to forgive the Clippers' new front office.

It's amazing how the Grizzlies manage to have everything go right for them at the end of close games, they've been winning games they had no business winning all season long. It'll catch up to them in the end, but we already lost this one so who cares.

Luc was due for a bad shooting night and so was Paul, too bad both had to come the same day Conley and Gasol couldn't miss, or we would've kept the winning streak going. I blame Forte for this one though.

tough loss. Austin looks out sorts. glad to see doc has come to his senses and kept him out at the end of close games.

If Austin Rivers was called Austin Smith and was just some dude from Orlando who played a year at Duke, everyone would be ecstatic that we have a 24 year old rotation player for Bullock and a 2nd. But because of memes and drama, we have the best record in the league and people still talk more about him than anything else on our team.

meh he looked outright awful to me but it's also not something that bothers me as i know he's much better than that.

there were a lot of issues in the game. i think my main issue is not plugging in the starting lineup at the end and leaving crawford in there when you know for a fact he's a legit dummy at the end of games.

I agree. should have had a better out of bounds play to get the ball to cp3. jamal did his job in scoring but after that should have been out.

As a coach though, it's a hard decision to determine whether you keep riding a guy or take him out, and you're always judged in hindsight. If he takes him out and the team still loses then he gets criticized for not riding Jamal while he was hot when that's the time that Jamal is most useful. So it's one of those cases where coaches almost always lose in the eyes of fans.

to me i think it's just clear as day. do you go with your best unit on the floor or do you stay with the "hot hand" who has low basketball IQ and cannot be trusted with execution and smart decisions in crunch time? i mean obviously that's a loaded question but that's also the reality of playing jamal crawford.
