If there is ANY way to completely insulate him from decision making, that is optimal.

I don't want him suggesting, recommending or nodding yes or no to the ideas. You lost your right to shop for the groceries...to even make a suggestion to add to the list.

We still have a good coach though.
Win win.

Nobody's ego could be entirely happy with this, but with few personnel successes to point to (JJ, Collison, Aldrich, Felton), Doc has to be aware now of his limitations. Brice is his boy, and he looks like a washout to me, a powerless forward who can't play the 3 or 5 either. But Doc rebuilt the front office from scratch--Lawrence Frank is his boy too--so he's done a creditable executive job of transitioning the franchise from Sterling's psychotic plantation to Ballmer's 21st century megacorp. I think he's earned a place with the org for life, even if it's only gladhanding in the executive box.

And hey, mebbe he can coach. It's pretty clear Chris Paul did whatever the hell he wanted for the 36 minutes he was on the floor in tough games and the playoffs, so now we have to do more with less. Without a true PG, Doc's gonna have to get creative, and damn quick.
