As much as I like him, that is way too much money for D.J.

To be honest, the only players currently on the roster I really care to see on the team next season are B.G. and Pat Bev.

Seems like they'd have to see how the whole season and playoffs turns out before committing big money to DJ.

If the end result is about the same or worse than previous seasons, why commit a lot of money?

OTOH, he's still an all-star level player so maybe they can't just let him walk away. They got good trade value for CP3 so maybe they can get something back.

This guy hasn’t been traded yet?

Should we pay DJ this summer? The short answer is no, but you cant let him walk for free, and you cant pay him anywhere near the max. Such is life with the Clippers. Changes need to be made, but how do you pull them off?

I do think the Clippers will be more open to moving DJ at the deadline with Doc not running things. But even then, what kind of return can you get and from whom?
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Lose more leverage and more value by the day.

He should have been moved this summer where he could have been in someone’s training camp and meshed with the players.

We shouldn't take Tristan Thompson's horrible contract in return unless the Brooklyn pick is coming with him.

TT being around the Kardashians would ruin his game even more.

Look at the toll it's had on Blake.

Sadly, the longer we wait, the more appealing this looks as we don’t want to be left with nothing.

TWO DJ TRADE SCENARIOS

Clippers get: Shumpert, Frye, Zizic & Brooklyn Pick
Cavs get: DJ, Brice Johnson

Clippers get: Jabari Parker & Henson
Bucks get: DJ

The first deal is way more appealing. We need to stockpile as many picks as we can. Two high lottery picks in this stacked draft (Brooklyn's and our own) would be a great way to start off our rebuild.

Doubtful DJ gets you what might turn out to be a top 3 or 5 pick.

Parker might be possible since he's coming back from another injury and coming up on an extension.

But Milwaukee just got rid of a big man so do they want another one?

Cavs are not trading the Brooklyn pick unless Lebron signs an extension, which he won't.

Bucks are trying to surround Giannis with shooters at every position, and DJ doesn't fit that.

The market for DJ is not great, I don't see a scenario where we get anything significant. We might have to let him go for nothing in FA, and that might be ok.
