I actually disagree. I thought he was well worth the risk (injury wise) for what we gave up. Credit to the FO for trying to make the best out of this situation, but our guys simply cant stay healthy. Gallo will still have market value if we decide to move off him this summer.

To me its falling into the same 'getting a player two years too late' manta that we've been repeating over and over with since Doc came aboard. Hope I'm wrong but Gallo is starting to look like how Chandler Parsons is for the Grizzlies.

Fixed.

How many games has Gallo missed now, as he passed his yearly average yet?

He misses 24 games/season over the last three seasons and is now at 19 games missed, so he's going to beat his average. He missed 29 in 15-16, so he might beat that too with how this is going.

Danilo just turned 29 in August. I mean, the FO knew what they were signing up for; a team of injury-prone players. Gallo has more value to me than the pick we gave up for him. He just needs to get healthy.

Its yet another wasted 1st rounder by our front office

If you want the Clippers to tank, this is the best way to apply our "assets." Gallo is locked in for 2 more years at a price that he can reach value, IMO. However, he needs to play 65+ games and play PF. Id much rather see us land a high lotto pick because of injuries and then be able to retool on the fly this summer. We still have good talent, but everyone is hurt. It isnt like we just arent playing well.

Hope for a top 5 pick, deal DJ, retool on the fly this summer. We already have three above average starters locked in (Beverley, Gallo, Blake). Our biggest issue is that Gallo and Blake are always going to be injury prone.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Those 3 above average starters are always injured.

We now just need to replicate EXACTLY everything we did leading up to the 2009 draft lottery. We can hire Andy Roeser back for a day to represent us at the lottery again.

Right, like I said, but which has also afforded us a potential quality lottery spot. That is imperative for us to reboot this roster without tearing it to the ground. Id still rather have those guys as assets over the late first round picks. Quality in two fold, because they are all good players and can also provide some trade value if you decide to tear it down. The gate of opportunity swings both ways with them on the roster. Only one way without. Certainly wouldnt select those three on my own, and its far from an ideal situation, but more than happy to have them on the roster instead of it being barren.

I've been saying it for a while, a top 5 pick is just not gonna happen. I understand daydreaming about it, and it'd obviously be great for the rebuild, but it's just not realistic at all, we're gonna be closer to the playoffs than to the top 5. Even now with a bunch of injuries to some key players that you could say is the perfect storm for a tanking season, we're getting wins cause we still have a bunch of good veterans. Either you trade half the roster for bad value and hurt the future more than you help it with the pick, or you have to be ok with a pick around 10 and retool in a different way.

We could always get extremely lucky in the lottery, but let's face it, we don't get nice things like that.
