"Over his last 126 regular season games, Austin Rivers is shooting 39% from three (217-of-555)."

In case folks thought his shooting was a fluke. He's a bonafide shooter, and what's most impressive is that he takes a ton of 3's off the bounce. He's even better in spot up situations.

This win was amazing and unexpected, but I really hope we don't let it go to waste by losing against Memphis. Screw the tank, I like our current roster and want to keep developing the young players. Staying competitive and getting these kinds of wins is the best way to do that. Let's focus on what we have, not some draft unicorn, and just try to make the most out of whatever picks we do end up with.

That having been said, I hope we are looking at some good offers for DJ. Love the guy, but I can't see how we can keep him around. Same goes for Doc, although I liked our team's attitude after all these injuries, still hoping we can find someone better.

Listen, I'm for the tank too.

But LAC is starting Austin Rivers/CJ Williams/Jawun Evans/Jamil Wilson / DeAndre Jordan.

They are unintentionally doing the best that they can to tank. If this roster can't tank, then you kind of have to just let it ride out because essentially, what you'd be saying then is that you won't be satisfied until the Agua Caliente Clippers are suiting up for us

I mean what can you do when Austin Rivers is playing like this?

S/O @MarvinToThe because he won't cite these numbers, they go against his agenda that he's been spreading across real gm

Regardless, the clippers are featuring Lou Williams and Austin friggin rivers being coached by Doc Rivers. If Doc is as horrible of a coach as people say he is, and if Austin is bad as people say he is, then we should really be out of the playoff race by now. Have to credit them for weathering a storm that should of been much worse than it is.

the logic is backwards. because he is playing alongside G-leagers, he gets to take 25 shots, and allowed to take 15 3balls in a single game. don't get me wrong here, Austin did play well. but he would not have given the green light to go off like that had we been mostly healthy. looking at the box score, no starter has taken more than a handful of shot attempts. somebody's gotta shoot the ball.
only Austin (25) Lou ( 21) and Evans (13) took a double digit shot attempts. it was a very guard-centric offensive game Doc is running.
but we won and took down the #1 team in the league and with this win, we dragged them down a notch on the rankings. very satisfying for sure.

again, a great game for the younger Doc. no criticism here for Austin in this game, or the recent games. kid is playing well and thriving in a bad situation. reminds me of the 90s clips.
ehhhhh f it.

hey Doc the coach is good, never really challenged that notion.

Doc the GM was terrible. now he isn't that anymore, and I can't speak for the guys like MtV, but most reasonable fans can see Austin is making a huge stride in absence of his better teammates.

anywho, Lou and Austin together has been incredibly good for us and with the expected development of Evans and Sindi, along with the expected healthy return of MIlos and Berverly for one more year at least after this season makes me believe that our guard situation is solid, filled with depth. now we have got to solve the SF situation becauase Galli can't D up as a 3 man. I am willing to try an experiment of running either Gallo or Blake as a small ball center and have a 3 men rotation with Harrell, if we are not getting an improvement there after the DJ trade. I can see Jerry West salivating at the thoughts of repeating Vlade for Kobe type of deal for our Clips.

Well first of all, if Austin continues progressing at the rate that he is, by the end of the season the Clips could have some issues with that. He can after all, become a FA this summer. Don't think it'll be an issue, as most teams don't have money to spend this summer, but it is possible.

I don't think we've seen enough of Gallo w/us at least to say that he can't guard 3's. His health alone though makes you want to find something more stable at that 3 position. We'll see what Jerry and co. can do about that this summer.

If there were anyone proven, he's already got a job. Everybody else you have to hire them when they're pups then see if they're any good.

Or you take a retread like D'Antoni who magically went from dogmeat to genius.

But that IS the point. He doesn't want to shoot that much but Lou said Doc asked him and Austin to. They were both trying to get others involved, which is why Austin looked so hesitant and started 1-for-7. He's had to do that since the injury blitz hit, and I expect his TS% to go up after he can be more choosy about the shots he takes. Right now it's either him, Lou or the G-leaguers [Jawun was 5-13 and is at 35%/26% on the year], and that's not much of a choice.

The idea that "if THIS roster can't tank, forget it" makes no sense. We could trade DJ and Lou and become the worst team in the league immediately.

You're not even being logical man.

That's how Hinkie lost his job.

No one except hinkie would gut a roster to that extent. We'd literally be trotting out the AC Clippers dude, and that's not happening.

So from that standpoint, this is the closest the team is going to get to "tank" and just by looking at the players the clips are playing, they SHOULD BE plenty bad.

Oh sheesh, first, the refs shouldn't have made such a mistake, and second, are we going to have one of those weird let us replay the last minutes of the game situations?

Return to Los Angeles Clippers
