Thanks for all the links and the videos. Team looks interesting and they are undefeated so far!
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D

Anyways, I don't see a reason why Doc had to insert his starting 5 in the 4th to close the game. It's pre-season, play your whoel bench and see what you got.

Clippers have tons of good role players on the squad, so alot of players are going to be pissed because of lack of playing time. Jerome was really pissed on the bench tonight.

Get Blatt. He will be a good coach for the young guys.
I think his ego kicked in and he didn't want to risk the embarrassment of losing to an Australian team.

Yes, of course, no one wants to be the team that loses to an international team, lots of games vs NBA teams to see the whole bench. There's a pride in that for an NBA coach and team.

Pat Bev 3 steals

Shai 4 steals

But we might credit total team defense bottling up their man and the passing lanes

In the NFL it's known as a "coverage sack"

the guy with the ball had nowhere safe to pass it to
so he got caught with the hot potato

As I said , it was easy to dismiss my comment as I did not watch the game, I only said that by only looking highlights (not stats) I have got impression that D is vulnerable, specially because we are talking here about an Australian, not a NBA team.

The defense is definitely gonna be vulnerable, we're gonna start Gortat, Gallo and Tobi as the three tallest players in the line up. Bradley and Bev are gonna clap a lot and get in people's faces, but it's not gonna solve a lot of things lol
And the bench is not gonna be a lot better with only Luc as a plus defender, not counting the rookies.

And that's one of the reasons we're gonna likely be behind everyone in the West but the Suns and the Kings. Which is alright if you ask me.

To your point, the Clippers were 28th in the league post all star break in Defense. The two teams they were in front of were tanking, so basically last. The team's issue / downfall will probably be defense. Between Tobi, Lou, Healthy Gallo, Pat Beverely can shoot it, they never really fell out of the top 10 on offense last year at all. Defense was the huge issue. So many guys in the rotation are either small defenders, bad defenders, or both.

No rim protection, best defenders are small, being league average on defense will be tough.

Yeah and that team had DJ as well. Gortat used to be at least solid, but he's too slow nowadays. Offense should be alright, like you say, but I find it hard to see a way that we're even average on defense.

I thought we looked OK except the DJ-sized hole in the donut at the rim. Gallo was surprisingly spry and mobile although let's see how long that lasts.
