Not sure why this continues to happen each season but hope it's not like this next season.

Boban getting some love on the General Board. :)

Boban can struggle against better talent and if teams plan for him they are going to try and foul him out. Even Ayton admitted he was caught off guard what to do.

I think like in fighting styles and matchups are very important. Boban matches up with some guys better than others BUT he is still a legit weapon overall in my book.

I was never a fan of Corey Maggette's, but Hollins makes him look like a total professional. Don MacLean may be dry but he at least provides something of worth when he speaks.

Ralph probably loves the Clippers more than anyone does but you would never hear him refer to the team as "we" live on the air. Just shows you his professionalism. Hollins was calling the Clipper bench as "our bench" last night.

Hollins is not that bad at all in my book. Seems like nobody can please you guys commentating wise. Most local broadcast teams are mediocre and homer based. I'm more concerned with the team and how they play.

Boban should have had a lot more points than what he ended up with. He missed a bunch of easy baskets and was just rushing everything. Not sure why since he's pretty good at just being patient until he's gather himself and then puts the ball in easily. But on a positive note, he was getting offensive boards like nobody's business so it's good to see that.

I still want our guys to figure out how to get the ball to our bigs better, especially off the pick and roll. A couple of times in this game, our guys floated a suicide pass over to Boban when he was open, and it took so long to get to him that the defense was able to recover. I don't know if the guys just don't have the ability to pass the ball in traffic or they just don't trust Bobi or Gortat to be able to handle moderately difficult passes. But our bigs are open on the roll and we can't get it to them. Maybe I've been spoiled watching Chris Paul, Lou and Milos masterfully run the pick and roll and having a guy like DJ who can go to heights no one else can. They do seem to do a better job of it with Harrell than Gortat or Bobi.

I imagine this correlates with the fact that we take the most mid range shots of almost all teams in the league as well. They either go for the contested layup, or just take the mid range.

Higher Expectations Better Than Settling for Mediocre

L.A. has had a history of great announcers: Vin Scully, Ralph Lawler, Chick Hearn, and Bob Miller. The Dodgers replaced the great and incomparable Vin with an impressive promising young announcer in Joe Davis. We're a major media market and have a organization that claims to want to do everything in a first-rate fashion. If we're competing with the Lakers for mindshare in Los Angeles, we better get the best available. It's bad enough that Ballmer allowed for the #ZuckedUp logo to happen on his watch.

The L.A. market and Clippers fans, in general, are more discerning, so if the organization wants to eventually realize a significant increase in more hearts and minds supporting the Clippers over the Lakers over the long haul, then we better get topnotch personnel. It's difficult enough to replace Ralph Lawler but to settle for a Bowen or Hollins as color commentator would be a disgrace. I've made suggestions and there should be plenty of great color commentators available.

There is no excuse settling for a dud and lowering our standards to every other market's is not winning any points with me. At the very least, televised basketball is entertainment, so having professional media personalities is the bare minimum, especially situated so close to Hollywood.

Even during the days of Sterling ownership, we've had great color commentary guys in Mike Fratello, Hubie Brown, and Rich Marotta and you're telling me that we have to settle for Hollins under Ballmer's ownership?

I thought Hollins was much better last night. He said a lot less and is still far more polished than Corey "ESL" Maggette. And FTR, I've heard a lot of ex-players say "we" and "our" when they've played for that team, but seldom announcers who have never played the game.

As for competing with the Lakers re on-air talent, the Lakers package from TV to radio to studio pre- and post-game is horrid. Stu Lantz LOL. James Worthy is death. The Fox packsge sparkels from top to bottom. McLean's still the clear class of the field, but it's questionable he wants to do all the travel. Still, I'd take him on a late Vin Scully schedule, all the home games and select road games not too far from home.

Failing that, Brian Sieman and the return of Mike Smith...
