The concern I do have about all of this is who how the other players on the team are taking it. Is there resentment? Particularly, I wonder what a guy like Pat Beverley with that dog-mentality, goes all-out every play.. thinks about this load management/sitting out games stuff...
At some point along the way (there's a video/quote that I saw) I switched to Lou Williams as the key individual who might have this resentment/issue.
I haven't read the The Athletic article that this video below is referring too, but I think it might be Lou whom they're alluding to.
Andre Iguoadala inadvertently 'outed' Lou Williams as being that guy. He's almost trying to 'defend' Lou or something.
And Steph A Smith doesn't even realize that he's giving more reason for why a guy might be resentful; saying that Lou Will is a player who should be making 10's of millions more than he is, etc.

I excerpted the Athletic article on the Hawks game thread. Perhaps you missed it. Even if you're right, since Trezz's blow up, Kawhi and Lou are watching game video together and sending their own edits to Doc. Things seem to be back on course.

A few things:
1. This team had a different dynamic among the personnel last year as Lou and Trez were team leaders
2. Doc has always played favorites. Lou and Trez have fallen a few rungs on that ladder.
3. Lou and Trez have contributed enough over the last few seasons that they should be able to take a game off every now and then.
The problems are most likely because Lou and Trez feel they are just as important to us winning a title that they should get some of the same latitude as Kawhi and PG. I think all Kawhi, PG, Lou and Trez should be rotated for rest. I can see where Trez could feel like they are trying to run the wheels off of him. He plays longer stretches than anyone and he has no guaranteed money after this year. If he tears something, he loses millions. I can't fault Trez if he is more concerned about a contract than winning a title. if he can do both great, but you only have small windows to cash in. Silver Spoon stole more from us in one season than Trez has made his entire career here.
Everything will work out, but I am not going to say there isn't some tension. It happens to most teams. Heck Horace Grant thought he was just as important as Jordan and Pippen. Jordan and Pippen grabbed 3 more titles without him, so Grant wasn't as important as he thought.

Re: Kawhi Leonard
Exactly why he chose the Clippers over the Lakers. If he pulls this off it'll be an all-timer.

Really impressive performance by Kawhi tonight. All the players gave 100% effort in the All-Star Game for a change, and Kawhi was easily the best player on the court. Well-deserved MVP.

Dude Kawhi is awesome, we don't deserve him lol. That All Star game was awesome, and as a Kobe fan I'm glad Kawhi took the first ever Kobe MVP. Some other notes:
- Lebron almost lost the game for his own team probably at least 4 times in the last few minutes in typical Lebron fashion.
- Giannis definitely schooled Lebron throughout the game, and Kawhi was the MVP on team Lebron, which is an even funnier slight considering the whole battle of LA thing.

Re: Kawhi Leonard
I thought harden was the momentum killer. I don't want to hear be had 6 asts. There's times where Kawhi was the easy pass and be wouldn't give it to him. It felt like in the second half they attempted to freeze out kawhi Leonard. Not saying they did. But it looked that way from LeBron.Young Sterling wrote:MartinToVaught wrote:Really impressive performance by Kawhi tonight. Harden was just being harden and playing dumb basketball IMO. Turning down open twos for corner threes. Houston basketball.

Yeahh, that was an epic ASG!!! By far, the most intense one since I started watching NBA hoops back in 1994.
