People comparing JJ to kennard haven't seen either JJ or kennard play. JJ is a one trick pony. Kennard can actually handle the ball and create for others. He can put the ball on the deck and create for himself. Kennard himself said he's overthinking.

Kennard should use this time to get himself looks. I was never a big JJ fan but he ran around like a meth freak getting HIMSELF open looks. JJ EARNED every shot he got, it wasn't spoon-fed to him.

Can’t see every player running around like JJ and with his knee history and size I doubt Kennard ever will. Kennard has to be confident while having the ball in his hand and neither are happening here. The next few games should be a good challenge for everyone

yes, the ballhandling thing :-?

and yes Luke is proving he is NBA-level catch-and-shoot
but he cannot get himself open like JJ
too low-energy, slowest man on the floor
basketball IQ negligible

maybe Ty can scheme that--frankly I think yes Luke can hit with the first unit, not the second
give me T-Mann who can do everything else

Amazing. You want T Mann when you laughed at playing him last year because your favorite coach wouldn't give him minutes to develop him.
Thank God the low IQ Doc is gone because winning games without your 2 best players would be a pipe dream.
Because give the ball to Kawhi or PG and let them do something wouldn't have worked today.

please get out of our face with this Doc bullsh*it?
and stop harassing me please

I was a T-Mann fan from the FIRST, his mom is an NCAA coach, I wrote all about it here on our board

Doc gave T-Mann minutes look it up
and even gave Jerome minutes too
and Doc is no longer here

I'm hoping T-Mann will earn playoff minutes just like Jerry West predicted he would last year

move on it's 2021

Clippers won tonight
this is a game thread

don't worry be happy :D

"Our" face? Who's our? And what harassment? Just do your plus minus analysis man. I know Doc's not there and neither is Trez but that doesn't stop you either.
I'm not one of those dumping on Doc every game thread but only when it's obvious.
Ty knows how to cultivate raw talent and when to insert someone into the game. You called T Mann a "G leaguer" and that's because Doc simply had no idea how to use him and when.

With KL and PG out. And we added two of the best team players in the league to the starting lineup? Plus Bev's back?

This could be cool.

First, we all agree we like TMann. If you want to talk about Doc, there’s a perfectly good forum for the team he’s currently coaching, the Sixers. I’m sure they’ll show some interest. But he’s not relevant enough to what’s going on now on *this* team for personal attacks. Everybody calm down.

Loved the game last night, especially liked the fact that our second team never let up. When the Cavs went on their minirun toward the end of the third to get it under 20, we basically held the line. No drama, no big deal. One thing, though—the three man backcourt of Mann, Reggie, and Luke is a mistake. The guy with the least smarts ends up with the highest usage when they’re out there. I’m fine with Reggie as whole—I like him for what he is, and don’t expect more than that—but those three guys just don’t seem to cohere well. Reggie and Mann, in particular, are no muy bueno on the court together. It kinda sucks—I wish Reggie would see the court and make decisions more like Terrence, and I wish Terrence would play in the moment a little more like Reggie. But it is what it is right now--together they’re bad, and Luke doesn’t help it.

Awesome side stat—31 assists last night, almost all in the first 40-42 minutes. Moved the ball to find the hot hands—who passed the ball well himself.

Good team win last night. We got a system that stays in place stars or no stars.. that's the sign of having a good coach. Lou Will is finding his stride again and this is the Morris Sr. we've been waiting to see since last season. Tougher team in Miami tonight but still a winnable game

I will be first in line to happily reverse my "Lou is through" position. I hope that it turns out just to have been a slow start. I still confess to a bit of a grudge that he chose chicken wings in Atlanta over the best interests of the team during the playoffs.

I have heard it said many times that injuries can help a team build depth. So long as PG and KL are back full steam by playoffs, yes it's great to see greater minutes and guys stepping up.

Maybe one of these days I'll be looking forward to praising Kennard (I believe in miracles, what can I say?)

It's good to see the team can win without both PG and Kawhi against lesser competition. We know what those two can do on any given night, but the bench is still pretty inconsistent as far as who usually steps up. Getting these types of wins should improve the bench's confidence.

I'm thinking the team should maybe look at another 3 or a 3/4. It doesn't help that both PG and Kawhi are 3's and both are out. But the small ball lineups of Reggie, Mann and Kennard give up too much size and at times, all three are hesitant to shoot. Then we're left with the three of them passing to each other and running down the clock, and then not getting a good shot off. Reggie at least drives occasionally, but I think having a 3/4 that looks to score could be effective with any combination of the guards.

At the moment, for the playoff rotation, we have Senior-Lou-Zu as our 6-7-8 men, and if we need a 9th I suppose it'll be just a handful of minutes split between those other 3 depending on matchups and who's playing well.

Of course if somebody viable gets bought out--esp a 3/4, like you say [I'd like more toughness]--the Clippers are a choice destination.

BTW, Blake is getting benched in anticipation of a trade--unlikely--or a buyout.
