Zu also had several mistakes in the paint. Worst was his starting his dunk from about 2 feet too far from the rim and having it blocked (again).

Fun game to watch, we could easily have taken that one.

That dunked block was hilarious because he got past the first defender and looked like he was about to slam it hard but then Giannis was like nope lol

To be fair Zu was fouled on the arm mid air by the first defender

Maybe Mr K is right and Zubac mistimed his jump but he went up strong and that's been sorely lacking. What I didn't like was that he seemed to get timid after that.

As for Giannis, props. We need some of whatever he's been drinking. We got killed in the paint AGAIN today.

We're not losing. We're getting punked. I'd like a point guard but what we need is a bouncer.

4:01 Nicolas Batum enters the game for Lou Williams 100 - 96
4:01 Paul George enters the game for Serge Ibaka 100 - 96

Right here we leave the game. Big Coaching **** job. Lou and Ibaka was the 2 hot hands that leave the game for 2 cold hands. Lue had chosen to go small with Morris and Batum together and Giannis made 2/2 FG and 3/3 FT. One thing you don't do in this league going small against Giannis...

He should have kept Ibaka in front of Giannis and Replace George with Beverley instead of the hot hand Lou Will.

Another issue is, Monty and Cp3 just executed perfect way to neutrilaze Giannis' defensive effect last week when Bucks played with Suns. Basically whoever guarded by Giannis went to the corner three and took him out of the equaiton. They execute it even sometimes to sacrifice Booker, left him standing in the corner 3 on crunch time. On the other hand, last night we simply play the opposite, iso plays against Giannis several times. The guy defended by Giannis shouldn't left the corner.. remember that block coming from behind to Kawhi?

Ty sucked big time last night with his lineups and play calling.

Some of the problems with this team can be summed up with one play int he 1st half that probably went largely unnoticed.

We missed a jumper, but Morris grabs the rebound at the FT line. The was a Clipper player and I believe a couple of Buck defenders down under the hoop. Morris had a wide open shot from the FT line. Rather than take the shot, he turns around and passes the ball to the top of the 3 pt line and our guy then bricks the three. So rather than come away with an easy two, we come away with nothing and the Bucks take the ball back the other way. Too much overthinking. It wasn't an end of quarter or game situation. We just needed a bucket.

This mentality continued at the end of the game where we were taking 3 pters down 1.

One thing has been true for a long time in the NBA, you live by the 3, you die by the three. The easiest way to break a shooting slump is to get easy buckets and get your confidence back. PB is not a 3 pt shooter. Him chucking more 3 pters wasn't breaking his slump. He needed to get some easy buckets.

Probably largely unnoticed because she is the 2nd worst analyst in basketball (Brent Barry #1). Sucks we got subjected to the torture of that crew. Doris is a great sideline reporter, but I just can't listen to her for an entire game. I usually don't because she zonks me out. There is nothing engaging or entertaining about her analyst work.

I'm not buying into Lou unless he gives us something of value in these playoffs. His atrocious defense negates his points scored. If he has a good playoffs then I'll gladly eat crow.

I generally agree, but his defense actually hasn't been bad this season- almost average actually.

We just had to keep the ball movement going in the final minutes. PG and Kawhi iso turns shouldn't have went down like that.

“Down that last four minutes we kind of walked the ball up,” George said. “We played slow in the half court and we didn’t really give ourselves a chance by the time we got to half court — we tried to set up a guard, like, you know, 12, 13 seconds on the clock. I thought we should’ve just pushed the pace — that’s on us.”

The offense hadn’t performed to expectations, Lue said, but also “we had a lot of good looks we didn’t make.”

“We just lost the game, that’s it,” Lue said. “We shot 44 threes, only made 14 and I thought we had a lot of good looks we didn’t make. Defensively I thought we were pretty good outside of transition, but we lost the game. OK.

“All these people acting like the world’s over.”

“We have good strides in games, closing them out and making the shots that we need to,” Leonard said. “It was just one of those nights.

“Like I said we need to get better. … Some teams come down in the flow of the pace and know exactly what they’re doing. Those are the teams that usually win. You’re not thinking, you’re coming down, getting into a set. But we’re all learning each other. We’re learning T-Lue so it’s just a learning process.”

I agree- but it would have been nice if they had made a few of those shots even though they were tough :x

There are also different types of buckets, Lou is very hot and cold but can actually initiate/create as well as anyone on the team. Of course, on his cold nights creating shots doesn't matter if you're not hitting them.

I understand we have other team needs, the question is whether there's a win-win trade where we actually get some value in return for Lou.

Would have been nice against Denver too... 8-)

I didn't get to watch the game, but it sounds like we sorta regressed to old habits in crunch time? Hopefully we can learn from that, if so then at least it was a good learning opportunity for the team and staff.

Yes, regression to bad habit definitely occurred- way too much iso ball. However, as I said, you'd expect at least one shot to go down in the last 4 minutes even if you are shooting very difficult shots.
