"Increase our playmaking"

You're telling me this man Frank gets paid to watch and scout games and after watching Kennard last season decided HE was the option at playmaker?!?

I've talked to Pistons fans who aren't surprised by his lack of confidence, inconsistent shooting, and fragile knees. 4 years 64 million (Same deal as Morris) before he even plays a game?! This is a joke! He is sabotaging this team on purpose!!!

He gets paid $500,000 a game to sit on his ass and cheerlead.

Frank, like Doc, is just a bad coach trying (and failing) to run a front office. At least he's not trying to juggle both coach and GM duties at the same time like Doc did, though. It also seems like he's obsessed with former Pistons players just like Doc was obsessed with former Celtics.

Regardless, the whole front office needs to at least be on the hot seat. You just can't trade the whole future away and give out this many bad contracts, especially not in the ultra-competitive West where other teams are always getting better around you. It's like this franchise learned absolutely nothing from the Lob City days and the reasons why that team had to be broken up.

Never mind the roster, I'm also still not over the lackluster coaching search and how they were all set to keep Doc until Ballmer stepped in. We reward second-round exits and then wonder why we've never made a conference finals.

The debate about Trezz heading into free agency was how much would he be worth offering? He ended up with a reasonably team-friendly deal, but for us the answer turned out to be zero anyway, when Ibaka became available and was a better fit.

As previously noted, the FO assessed [and I agree] that Trezz had to go if PG was going to stay, and if PG doesn't re-sign, the chances of keeping Kawhi also decrease. So the shoulda-couldas can only go so far here.

That said, we got more out of the center position [combined] last year than we're getting this year. We got more out of the second unit [especially Lou] than we are this year--which is amazing since 2 of last year's starters are now on the second unit!

Trezz is neck-and-neck with Kuzma as the Lakers' best sub and Zu is struggling in the backup center role. On paper at least, we'd be better off with Ibaka-Trezz than any other tandem at the 5.

And people are drawing the wrong conclusion out of Trezz's emotional and physical meltdown in the bubble and playoffs last year--the Clippers COLLAPSED when Trezz was unable to play at his usual level, a level that won him 6MOY in 2020 and scored 18+ ppg the year before in the 2018-19 playoffs. He's a flawed player who has matchup problems--but so do old-fashioned 7-footers with bad hands and no outside game. And Joker can put up 40 against ANYBODY not named Embiid.

Well it's in the past. All we can hope now in the present and future is to hope for them to fire Lawrence Frank 8-)

Before this season started I put the blame squarely on the front office for last year. With last year's scapegoats gone [and thriving elsewhere], attention is being directed where it belongs. But I also question whether Frank is making the decisions or if he's just the co-ordinator of Ballmer's massive braintrust of executives, surely the highest paid in the NBA if not all US sports.

I mean where was St. Jerry of the West when all these bonehead moves were going down? I detect a heavy hand from the CEO/owner and decision by committee otherwise.
