Nice win. Multiple guys stepped up.

On a side note. Brogdon reminds me a lot of Andre Miller- but with 3 point range added

Mann played very well [plus+10] in his 25 minutes. Despite poor shooting, Reggie with plus+13 with 5 rebs and 4 assists in his 29. No need to fix what isn't broken. Building continuity and familiarity is a priority now and it looks like Batum [a blazing team-best plus+22] and Mann will be playing a lot of minutes side-by-side and perhaps Rondo [if he doesn't start] and even Patterson [again with a dandy plus+17 that has earned him at least a look at playoff minutes].

After being a drag most of the year, the second unit won this game. It's good to have one again.

Reggie is going to get exposed in the playoffs we need to see what we have in Mann now. Worst case he's not ready in relatively meaningless regular season games and after 5-7 we go back to Reggie. What's the bigger risk? That or being in a must win elimination and making a desperation Mann start for the first time all year.

Mann is NOT a point guard and he is NOT going to start in the playoffs. Period. The smart thing is to continue to familiarize him with the guys he WILL be on the floor with in the playoffs, starting with Batum.

Plus/Minus per 100 possessions [which OG prefers] over the last 6-game win streak EXACTLY explains the PT Ty is handing out except Marcus is way down the list--but he's getting the starting minutes anyway because it's still much better than he was doing before.

1 Rondo
2 Batum
3 Reggie
4 Kawhi
5 Patterson
6 PG
7 Zu
8 Mann
10 Morris
12 Kennard

______________

ADD: Also agree with Ty starting Kennard for Kawhi instead of disrupting the whole rotation by starting Mann, which would be a much more logical and defensible move than for Reggie. Keep Mann working into his real playoff role--we are still a brand new team.

Just bc you say it with emphasis doesn't make it true. Mann has proven consistently he is a great playmaker and distributor. There are many scenarios where Mann may end up starting and we don't want the first one to be when the entire board is screaming for Reggie to get benched in the playoffs.

As long as we keep winning at a consistent clip, it will be a nice luxury to keep them fresh.

There may be disagreements on who should get more minutes and where, but on the whole we have a much better roster to accommodate rest games for whoever needs it. And I think Ty will have a really good handle on substitutions and rotations going into the playoffs.

No, the statistics say it's true. Only you and your "eye test" say it's not. You have had your say and I have had mine--with facts to back up my position.

The plan remains for Reggie to hold Bev's place until he gets back. During the season, the stats said that Jackson filled in for Bev with no falloff. These are the 2 lineups that have played the most together [by far]--and the most successful:

KL-PG-Batum-Ibaka-Jackson plus+4.8
KL-PG-Batum-Ibaka-Beverley plus+4.6

https://www.nba.com/stats/lineups/traditional/?Season=2020-21&SeasonType=Regular%20Season&TeamID=1610612746&sort=PLUS_MINUS&dir=1&CF=GP*GE*3

Now, it's going to be hard enough to work in Morris for Batum, and if any other change is to be considered it's Zubac for Ibaka.

Adding Mann--who is less of a point guard than Bev or Reg--to that equation is suicidal, and Ty shows ZERO indication of considering it. [Reggie was plus+13 again tonight.] If/when Bev comes back, I expect Mann will still hold onto his 20-ish mpg, and that's all that matters. Reggie's minutes will probably be the ones to decrease, not Mann's, so you'll get your wish anyway.

Three starters out today - Kawhi, Pat, Serge .. no surprises there.

sPacers are 25-27, I think Clips are on a roll, so many bench players stepping up in big ways.

Clips by 10 - there it is, I have spoken.

So sorry, I was way off... :D
The Clipper fan understands the Book of Exodus better than anyone... what it's like to struggle 40 years in the wilderness... and Genesis.. why Cain went after Abel... So fLakers, look out... we're coming.

Wouldn’t make it a long term thing but I’m concerned Joseph might make the game difficult again while opening things up for Jackson and Bey
