Ty Lue will probably give more mins to Rondo/Kennard/Bev on Sunday to give our starters a bit of a break.

The NBA is stupid and reckless with this schedule. And we wonder why record-breaking numbers of stars have been injured in the playoffs.

I feel like professional athletes should be able to run around for 40 mins over a 3 hour period every other day with no issue.
Hockey and football I can totally see needing more rest, but basketball, baseball and others shouldn't be that big of a deal imo.

Basketball and baseball are not comparable. Soccer would be more comparable, and they usually give like 3-5 days during the bigger competitions.mttwlsn16 wrote:I feel like professional athletes should be able to run around for 40 mins over a 3 hour period every other day with no issue.

I hooped A LOT when I was younger. Is it possible to go every other day (I would go every day sometimes) for a long period? Yes, but is it advisable? Not at all, especially when you add travel to the mix which means that you aren't getting as much rest as you need to recover. The muscles just get sore, fatigue starts to become a factor, and then that increases injury possiblity.
I don't see why the NBA needs to rush things though.

This is lunancy man, no offense.
There are twisting, torquing, stopping, accelerating over a 3 hour stretch, let alone warm ups traveling different time zones. The regular season is 3 maybe 4 games at best per week because the NBAPA worried were concerned about rest and recovery.
They're humans. They're not super robots.
Do pitchers throw every other day when they play their sets? No.

Yes, the NBA could have figured at least ONE two day rest into the WCF.
When I was in my 18-25, I could hoop whenever...including hooping myself into shape or dropping a few pounds. It stopped being as easy in my late 20s and now my 30s. I def need my rest to recoup. While these guys are athletes and in world class condition (and I was not), the human body is still the human body and it needs recovery.
The NBA should be limiting back to backs as much as possible as well. I know the venues are booked out and that may make it nearly impossible to completely eradicate them but....as much as possible.

Mann got two 4th Quarter Bangs from Mike Breen.
That's the most in Clipper History (don't quote me there)
hehe.

I'll agree that 2 days off when changing cities should be the norm. One travel day and one rest day. But I don't see a need for 2 days off between games 1 and 2, and between 3 and 4.

usually the 2 day rest comes with city changes or series changes. To accommodate travel and recovery. But the nba is being selfish this year.

Yes, they dnon't need two days off between every game, but having one day off consistently for weeks on end regardless of travel just doesn’t make much sense.

The NBA and ABC valuing money over player safety is no more apparent than how they scheduled tomorrow's game. The Clips on less than a day and a half rest have to travel to Phoenix for a 12:30 pm start. Meanwhile Atlanta travels to Philly for a late start. NBA wants that EC game for prime time.
Clips-Suns being the West Coast game should have been the evening game.

Ya that seemed really dumb to me. I understand Game 7 being the more prime time game, but make it start at 9 and let our game be at 6 or 630. (I'm on the east coast).clipperlover wrote:The NBA and ABC valuing money over player safety is no more apparent than how they scheduled tomorrow's game. btw hard to describe what it was like to wake up and see espn frontpage
- telling myself, ok hopefully we at least got it kinda close
- hmm that's funny why are they showing terrance mann on the front page, and paul george behind him
- usually they only show the winning team's players on the front page, right?
- oh look as i read, it says right here that the clippers won and advanced to the wcf behind mann's 39 points
interesting way to wake up lol.
