I saw some random guy post this:
nickhx2 wrote:God Squad wrote:Hey Clips fans, how do you guys feel about this hire? I'm really loving the Chauncey lead assistant pickup. Hopefully, he'll be able to take the reigns.
I think plenty of people would have liked a more mysterious/exciting pick, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it would have been a better one.
I think it's a good, solid choice. He's got history of making adjustments in the playoffs (something we clearly did not have) and he's also got the wherewithal to hold his players accountable. People like to meme on him but I just mostly think they are too willing to buy into media and realgm narratives.

I can admit that I was not thrilled with the hiring. However, Ty Lue is doing a fabulous jobs in these playoffs which is when we need him to earn his keep.
I think I will just leave this classic article here:

I guess if Ty Lue was sitting next to you, then you failed to listen.

definitely for myself i liked the hiring and thought it was the right one. but i never would have been able to imagine this scenario. and when ballmer was hyping him up as the best coach in the NBA i was rolling my eyes.
but now? maybe he was right all along.

Lue is absolutely proving himself a great coach.
All the ridiculous comments about Lue being Doc 2.0 are just garbage.. and you know who you are.
How this guy has gone counterintuitive, and responding to size with small ball, then when Suns go small he goes larger. Brilliant. Yes, he needs players to execute but he has to put them in a position where they can succeed. And he is surely doing that, for THREE FREAKING SERIES NOW, despite all the injuries.

The Clipper fan understands the Book of Exodus better than anyone... what it's like to struggle 40 years in the wilderness... and Genesis.. why Cain went after Abel... So fLakers, look out... we're coming.

It's just crazy how Lue has overcome one obstacle on top of another. One adjustment after another.
Lue is a very gutsy guy. He's not worried about his legacy because most coaches would refuse to play guys he's playing.

Re: Ladies And Gentlemen, Tyronne Lue
so, thinking a bit about this and our past history with coaches:
it is really freaking nice to know that the coach of your favorite team is legitimately really freaking good. it's just so freeing to know that that's not a thing we'll have to worry about for a while. i can't tell you how many times i've thought about this team only to go "well, actually the team's chances in the playoffs are capped because of who the coach is."
that security is not something to take for granted.

Couldn't disagree more.
Also, if you dont want to believe me, which is fine, here are some quotes from Jovan Buha:Stylistically, Lue’s Cleveland teams were relatively modern. He’s a more progressive coach than Rivers. He often played small-ball lineups, often with LeBron or Richard Jefferson at the four (picture Leonard or George doing so more often) and downsized the center position by going five-out with Love (imagine JaMychal Green or Marcus Morris Sr.). He even made the difficult decision to bench Love in crunch time of the playoffs in favor of the more defensively capable Tristan Thompson, while maintaining the star’s buy-in to the team’s culture. Some changes that Lue will bring to the Clippers next season include better ball movement and a faster pace, league sources said. The Clippers will experiment more on the defensive end, mixing in more zone coverages and varying pick-and-roll schemes. The younger players on the roster — Ivica Zubac, Landry Shamet, Terance Mann and Mfiondu Kabengele — will be given larger roles and more minutes. The Clippers plan to stagger Leonard and George’s minutes more, as well as testing out different role players around them to see what lineup combinations work best.

Re: Ladies And Gentlemen, Tyronne Lue
Ty is not just a good coach, but possibly THE BEST at this very moment, pulling this off with his main superstar, and change out. Creating diamonds out of Reggie Jackson, Terrence Mann, Demarcus Cousins...honestly there has to be some kind of NBA reference stat for how short-handed teams are, and how much he's able to get out of whatever he's given.
TLDR: Current Pulse Readings (9/2/22)

UCLA Basketball:
UCLA Football: Chip Kelly magic time
Cubs: Uh, 2016
Blackhawks: Uh, 2015
Bears: Poor Justin Fields
FC Barcelona: Economic levers

I'm thrilled to be wrong about Lue. Everyone thought he was only known for coaching LeBron, but it turns out he's the LeBron of coaching.

Always took the wait and see approach with this one.
He sure has impressed.
Glad he is in the fold and should be for years.

Re: Ladies And Gentlemen, Tyronne Lue
great first year and i think he did really well for himself, breaking free from the lebron memes and narratives.
but i do hope that he looks deeply into these playoffs for some of the things that he can work on. and i'm reasonably sure he will.
