Nice! I wasn't sure if they were going to be able to re-sign him. Looks like with that second year option, he gives himself the chance to re-sign with Bird Rights for a large contract.

honestly i could see kawhi doing it just for subterfuge reasons. he wants to muck things up a bit for other teams, but also he is curious to know how far front offices would go to make room for him. that's highly valuable information.

Did the Clips use any exceptions to re-sign him? So far all ive seen is that his deal is for 3.5ish mil, thats like BAE money IIRC.

Batum just killed it in Olympics with French Team against Italy yesterday. French now matches up with Doncic' Slovenia on Semi finals. A reporter asks Batum "you played against Doncic last playoffs in Dallas vs Clippers series, can you help the defense with your experience on stopping Doncic" Batum smiles and says " I can help by asking Kawhi to help"
