Why did we give up a second round pick for Rivers? I think we need a GM, let the coach coach and that be it.

I don't think I like the rivers addition but I would love Nate off the bench. I think bench production is the main reason this team isn't performing as well as last years team. We routinely lose leads or get into hole in the 2nd quarter unless Crawford is on fire.

If we do get Nate I can't see any minutes for Austin Rivers. He can't play over Nate at the point or Riddick/Crawford at the 2.

I don't see the problem adding both Nate and Rivers. Reserve guards are inconsistent by nature. I'm fine with letting their minutes fluctuate. Our bench is clearly being rebuilt anyway, so there's nothing wrong with having that extra option. And hopefully Dahntay Jones can play solid D.

like i said

Maybe Rivers is trash….but I don't see why he can't be Danny Green for us eventually.

So our bench now looks like:

PG: Nate | Farmar
SG: Crawford | Rivers | Wilcox
SF: Jones | Bullock

Assuming it is CDR & Udoh en route for Rivers.

Just....unbelievable. We need defense and we sign a shorter Crawford, trade for a combo guard that is the Skid Row version of Brandon Roy without knees, and a 34 year old that was solid, but never good, to begin with.

Just..wow.

If we land Rivers and Robinson im not sure Crawford is around after the deadline.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

If Dahntay Jones was replaced with Tayshaun Prince I would pretty satisfied. Jones is on a 10 day and Prince could be bought out eventually. Its possible.

God I hope not. He's is part of who we are now. But if Jamal, Bullock, Wilcox and a couple 2nds are enough to get us Chandler or Afflalo from Denver, gotta do it, can't afford to be sentimental.

I just dont think a bench consisting of Robinson/Rivers/Crawford makes any sense.

Pop develops players, Doc doesn't have the patience or the raw coaching ability to do the same.

Also, Green and Rivers are completely different players. Green is a prototypical three-and-D wing, Rivers is a tweener point guard who can't shoot or play defense.

Hopefully the trade is hitting a snag and doesn't go through.

We pretty much DID bring back Dumbleavy under the stage name "Doc Rivers." An overrated coach whose arrogant attempt at being a GM repeatedly blew up in his face.

Hopefully the Clippers acquire Wilson Chandler. If not, perhaps Tayshaun Prince could help at small forward. He is still a decent player

Obviously, I'd much rather have a guy like Chandler, but Prince has been somewhat effective in limited minutes this season. He can still contribute 20 minutes a game.

With Barnes playing so well, would Prince still start?

I would think Prince would start on bench and see if Prince plays better. Similar to the Dudley/Barnes scenario last year.
