Is Lue trying to get himself fired after one season. Why is zubac guarding Luka at all. Just a terrible strategy

Not a terrible strategy, it works, but it depend on Luka not hitting 50%+ on off dribble three's. They are switching to take away passing angles and drives where Luka is also deadly. Problem is that Luka is currently dicing it up, and how you have to decide to stock with the plan or switch it up and give him a different look.

Have you watched the game? This is like putting a child on Luka. If he doesnt feel the defender, he will eat you alive. Have to force him to make difficult shots. Terrible strategy

I don't judge strategies based on one game. I'm saying the strategy of switching works in that it's not a bad strategy in a vacuum, it can work if Luka isn't hitting those shots the same way. Luka obviously liked the Zubac matchup too much though.

When he is hitting, it looks like a terrible strategy. When he's not, people say "good job making him a scorer and not allowing him to also get his teammates going and score". There's no perfect strategy against double threat playmaker/scorers, you just have to know when to switch it up and try something else, but you also don't just do that every time a player is going off, those are the coaching choices that you make and you hope you make the right one at the right time.

Guys like Luka, elite playmakers and scorers are tough because you can get killed by either strategy, lol

Luka, although he is a PG, this is the reason why he reminds me more of Larry Bird than Magic Johnson. Magic, probably the best point guard ever, couldn't make a shot until later in his career with a setshot not much different than Rondo's, whereas Larry was a great shooter with great size who can also happen to be a playmaker when he wanted to.

same argument in baseball is now finally making into basketball, I see. Stat analysis based on a large sample vs intuitive and spontaneous nature of a short series. I am loving it, carry on.

When I watch Lebron play, especially in the last several seasons, I see Magic in motion, with better shot and athleticism. Magic still played better intuitively and with much better showmanship, but Lebron at this point, I think is a better overall player, than dare I say, Magic.
