As usual, the Clippers led at the half, got destroyed in the third, but this time were finally able to come back and win in the fourth. So the Clippers end their losing streak by barely beating the Memphis scrubs. A win is a win I guess.

He sounds like a Little League coach trying to protect the feelings of the worst kid on the team. Notice how defense and rebounding aren't mentioned.

This "win" was even more of a loss than losing would have been. Lue feels totally vindicated to keep showcasing Morris and isn't the slightest bit apologetic for it. :noway:

George was bad on defense till the end of the game.

How much do Clippers fans have to pay to give the Morris minutes to Covington?

Change.org, GoFundMe....I don't know what we need to do. :banghead:

Morris starting was unexpected coming right off speculation that he was being phased out, which certainly got my hopes up.

Remember when teams target Kennard when he's on defense? MMSr is now the new Kennard, except Kennard is actually a better defender.

Luckily we held on and broke the losing streak. 1st game of a 9 out of 10 at home with the lone road game at Portland.

After 6 games in 10 nights, we now have at least two days off between games over the next 4 games. Should lend good time to practice and get healthier. Time to get a 10 game winning streak going heading into the only road trip outside Pacific Standard Time remaining.

At some point, we the RoCo over Morris situation will come to fruition. At this point, I hope Lue is playing the long game and saving RoCo to use a a "secret weapon" for the playoffs.

PG crawled so Kawhi could get MVP chants while at the free throw line. Good to see them both have monster 4th quarters to carry the team to a win. Should've had two wins against Sac and Denver was a toss up. This Morris instead of RoCo situation is getting pretty ugly with each passing game. I've been a Lue supporter since he's gotten here but this move has him looking real funny in the light. I have no clue how big of a fallout it would've been had we lost the game last night

Well thank heavens this team finally won.. can't believe the 51 pt qtr!

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/270722/Taylor-Jenkins-Gives-No-Timetable-For-Ja-Morant-Return

Even though they've usually played better without him - I don't buy that in general.. hopefully he's out for a month and misses both the other games on 3/30 and 4/1, so this team gets a couple more wins.

Not surprised at Luke's game, that was pretty inevitable especially with no Brooks and Morant.

now address what I said or FO

This is the team THEY asked for. Put up or shut up.

This iteration of Clippers failed big time and I'm calling the head of Ty Lue, Kawhi and PG together since the moment this trio asked(cryed) for Russ. The signing was the final draw for me to sorry about their weak aşs. TBH watching Russ gave me more enjoy than watching 213 on the court recent week. Bring me Brooklyn Nets route 100%

But regardless of what it is, You can't call people out with how much we endure your stupid +/- takes all year. PG-Kawhi-Lue being a weak aşş doesn't have any relation the lineup şhitpiles you daily posted here. FO

yes well +/- beats their infantile 'eye tests' so kiss my

and you're agreeing with me anyway

RoCo was injured and then got COVID and has been behind all year. He also goes through massive slumps. We can only hope he wants Covington on the up when we hit the playoffs.

As everyone expected, Lue drew all the wrong conclusions from that "win." Morris will now be getting 48 minutes per game.

The Celtics aren't missing Udoka one bit. Meanwhile, we're really missing Kenny Atkinson. I know who I'd rather hire.

Morris must have some serious dirt on Ty Lue. Treats him like he is an old super star that won us a championship 5 years ago lol

Maybe Lue has a little league team somewhere that Morris helped get a few rings. Could be.:)

fwiw i do think it's just an honest mix of wanting to placate a vet, concern over the rest of the locker room when that vet is demoted, a complete misevaluation of talent/skills, and a misevaluation of how those players fit into his vision.

particularly for the last one, he might just think morris enables the key guys on spacing (which he kinda does) and because he's a scorer he makes for a better offense (wrong), he's a near automatic bucket in the post so that also makes for a better offense (right and wrong), because he's big and tough he can defend (very wrong), rebounding's not a huge deal with the starters because kawhi/PG/zubac are all you need (wrong) so he's simply just a better fit than covington for the starters and better in all facets, or perhaps close/equal on defense (joke). i mean that's just my own speculation but if i'll just say i'd put good money on most of that being what he actually believes.

Injury/Covid has nothing to do with the minutes issue unless Lue is somehow punishing RoCo for a disagreement about the usefulness of masks/vaccines. Lue is not trying to give RoCo minutes. In his mind, Morris is more valuable. I can only hope that as we approach the end of the season, we see RoCo, PG and Kawhi on the court together. RoCo just does a little bit of everything. RoCo has also been a 1st Team all-NBA Defensive Player, so those 3 on the court together could wreak some havoc.

Some Comparison stats:
RoCo is a full 2 pts better than Morris in PER. Morris is nearly 4 pts under the league average.
https://insider.espn.com/nba/hollinger/statistics/_/league/west/page/3
PER: Player Efficiency Rating is the overall rating of a player's per-minute statistical production. The league average is 15.00 every season.

RoCo achieves at least a Rb, Ast, Stl, Blk and point in 18% of his games played. Morris does the same in 7% (and with significantly more minutes). When we take it to 4 of 5 categories, RoCo is at 60.5% while Morris is at 54%, but with an average of 10 more MPG.

RoCo is shooting the Corner 3 at 38% while Morris is at 31%.

RoCo is a better career 3pt shooter than Morris.

RoCo was 14th in the NBA in total stls and stls/gm last season. He was also #14 in Total blks and #13 in Blcks/gm. He was also 18th in Defensive Rebounds. (While still getting 6 minutes less per game than Morris).

Morris has no type of accolades on an NBA level.
