Great win , well deserved with the way they fought all game.
Curry was on fire and there was no surprise there.
GSW missing Wiggins hurts but the games just be played with players available.
Westbrook is meshing well now and EJ has been a nice pick up. All players tonight chipped in toward the victory.

LMFAO at "Morris is doing his job" idiotic takes. I would love to see what a traffic cone ends up with, playing along side of Kawhi and PG.
The only job Morris did was getting ejected and forcing Lue to do something other than playing Morris.

Who needs a review when you have Kawhi?

Yes. The officials made the right call on that Gordon play. He launched his shoulder to the right. Was obvious in real time. It was unnecessary at that point in the game.
While we did many things right in that game, they are going to go back, look at the game film and find plenty of things to fix. Some things I hope they fix:
1. In the 3rd we got into an early bonus situation, but did not attack to take advantage of it. We have enough attackers that we should be able to live at the line in that situation.
2. In the 4th, PG was overly aggressive defensively. As a result, not only did he get himself into serious foul trouble, but he helped GS get into a Bonus situation two minutes into the 4th. At least, GS didn't exploit it. However,
Not sure what happened, but at one point late in the 3rd, RoCo got up and looked like he was walking down to check-in and then he went back and sat down. Embarrassing for him.
Have to give Westbrook some major kudos. Him getting into the paint, grabbing rebounds an knocking balls out of poeple's hands is just a new element for this team. Looks like Mann feeds off of that also, so the opponent isn't getting a break when Russ is out. Nice that he isn't sitting at the 3 pt line watching balls get rebounded by the opposition. Russ has more offensive rebounds with the Clips than Morris has this calendar year. Since his arrival, Russ has 40 RBs to Morris's 16.

Damn, I missed an exciting game. Love how the team has made it a point to take care of the ball. Those 20+ turnover games were sickening. That alone made things an uphill battle. With that under control, it's an even playing field.
As others have said, the energy and effort that Russ plays with is contagious. I'll accept his questionable shot selection to get the additional boards, passes, steals, and impact to guys like Mann (morale) and Kawhi/PG (less ball handling). Everyone knows he's not the triple-double Westbrook anymore, but the experience is still there. That is pretty valuable.
I'm glad EG got to play through his mistakes. Having another solid/tanky defender that can guard multiple positions is always useful, and defenders have to respect his three point shot.
Lol at Morris and Draymond. Draymond did us a favor by getting Morris ejected, but I noticed Draymond wasn't eager to get up in Morris' face either. In some situations it pays to have a goon/enforcer.
Lastly, I'm a bit anxious with Powell. I know his offense is needed, but he plays out of control at times and isn't a good defender. I'm liking the current lineups and minutes distribution. Hopefully Lue manages his minutes properly when he returns.

My son is a Celtics fan and I have told him many times that the reason they lost to the Warriors last year was because they didn't have anyone to actually counter Draymond. Grant Williams tried, but he isn't a good enough player to be the person. Marcus Smart should have been the guy, but he never challenged Green when Green started getting in people's faces.
Marcus Morris is a fake tough guy. He picks up dumb techs. We don't have a true enforcer.

?????
Based on what, they traded for Durant?
By the end of next weekend, we should pass them in the standings. I am not worried about them if we have home court or not.

Well, if he really is the resident +/- guy then technically he should be the first to agree we played better last night without Morris.

hey can anyone here explain single game plus minus to me in a way that accurately conveys a player's value and impact on the court?
I'll wait
and I'll keep waiting because it's trash and so is Marcus Morris. and so will this teams chances if dude doesn't get relegated to 3rd string by the playoffs

Really sad how the CBA has become a meme to NBA fans as if CBA is a joke of a league. They could easily make fun of other overseas leagues that aren’t near the NBA level like Australia’s NBL or Germany’s Basketball Bundesliga. But I think it’s just a matter of being racist since the CBA is Asian.

Re: Game #70: GSW @ Clippers Wednesday 3/15 7 PM—ESPN
If you look at their starts per minutes played it really makes you question what value Morris really provides.
Morris has 42 less ORBs than Mann in 78 more minutes. Morris get an ORB about every 65 minutes on the court compared to 24 for Mann. RoCo and Batum are about every 25 minutes.
Morris gets a defensive rebound about every 8 minutes while Mann is at 9. RoCo 5.5 minutes, Batum 7 minutes.
Oddly, Morris gets a steal every 44.5 minutes on the court which is slightly ahead of Mann. Roco every 23 minutes and Batum every 32.
Morris gets about 1 blk every 80 minutes on the court. Mann is at 84. RoCo leads the team at 21.5 minutes and Batum is at 35 minutes. RoCo actually has more total blocks than Morris.
Surely, it must be Morris's scoring that keeps him on the court. Well, he does score a point every 2.4 minutes while Batum and RoCo are at 3.6 and 2.9). Mann is only at 2.6. Norm, Kawhi and PG score a pt every 1.6 minutes or less.
On a side note, I have to give Russ credit. Russ is averaging 1.4 stls/gm (1 every 20 minutes on the court). He is definitely adding an element that we didn't have with his ability to create steals. He was only getting 1.0 stls/gm with the Lakers.

Those are good stats. But T-Mann is not guarded as a legit 3-point shooter [spacing] and is not a PF either. He's a shade under 6'5" and generously 210 lbs. Marcus Morris is 6'8", 240. Setting one against the other is a false controversy. Morris is a stretch-4 even if he is crap at it. T-Mann has no position, no definable role.
When matchups allow, Mann is the better choice and Ty gives him the minutes. But Mann also turns in his share of stinkers like the Knicks game that the 'eye test' crowd seems to never see.
The only point Justin Russo and I are making is Morris isn't the problem that an obsessed swath of internet Clipperdom makes him out to be. The facts aren't there so we'll take the championship coach and the stats over amateur eye tests every time. You have to look at the team stats to determine what the problems are before you hammer anyone on their weaknesses. Marcus is admittedly useless blocking shots and rebounding but if those aren't team problems, then we're not even really talking basketball, we're talking about agendas.
Interesting how the only ones who freak out at plus/minus are exactly the ones who hate Morris and pump Mann, despite the stats? And that's not just this board--as you can see it's a slice of the entire Clipper internet.

Did you enjoy the game?

Zu's calf probably had more to do with our 5 game losing streak than anything. Now that he is back, we are putting the pieces back together. One Russ and Zu have their chemistry soldified (hopefully fully clicking by the playoffs), Zu is going to be a huge weapon for us.
By the start of the post season, we will be able to consistently challenge opponents in so many ways:
1. In the paint
2. Attacking
3. In the mid range
4. In ISO
5. From the perimeter
Return to Los Angeles Clippers
