Re: Trade Idea Thread
Ooops. This message goes with the one proposing a Vince Carter for Tim Thomas and Cuttino Mobley.
Ardent Magic fans dying to shed Carter. But for two journeyman has-beens? You've got to be kidding.
Mobley was a nice player when we had him 6 years ago. I thought he was retired. Tim Thomas also well past his prime.
The Magic dont need warm bodies at the end ofthe bench.
Keep dreaming.

Your about two years too late for that trade, lol
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Re: Trade Idea Thread
I think we should try to get Stephen Jackson. It looks like the Bobcats are trying to dump salary. What if we trade a TPE and maybe a future pick for him?
Then they can go after a PG like Sessions.
With SJax, this team will make the playoffs and do damage.

Re: Trade Idea Thread
How about we trade Baron for Stephen Jackson. Then a future 2nd for Sessions.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

No. I wanted Baron and SJax to play together. The Session deal was for the Bobcats. They lost Felton. I read they got Livingston though.

From a Bobcats fan, would you do a Chris Kaman for Erick Dampier type of deal?
And can someone enlighten me on Kaman's game, especially on defense? He has had a 2.8 BPG season but has declined a whole lot statistically.

Nope. There is nobody on the Bobcats that I would trade Kaman for outside of Wallace, and I know they won't trade him.

Re: Trade Idea Thread
I've heard that the Knicks have interest in Baron Davis. Now I'm unsure if this is true or not, and considering they just signed Raymond Felton it seems even less likely.
Is there any relevance to this rumor, and if so have there been any initial trade ideas?

I thought they might at the beginning of the offseason, but after they sign Felton I thought they wouldn't anymore. They would need to add some incentive to Curry to make it happen though.

Re: Trade Idea Thread
Hey guys, I just posted this idea on the trade board. What do you think about it? Obviously we would have a contingency plan to move Baron with this.
Clippers Get: Rondo/Perkins/Wallace
Clippers Give: Kaman/Aminu
The Clippers get younger and it starts by getting their PG in Rondo who will pair with Blake to create a force for the future. Perkins will eventually be their center once he gets healthy, and Wallace gives them some immediate savings.
Celtics Get: Collison/Okafor/Aminu
Celtics Give: Rondo/Perkins/Wallace
The Celtics slightly downgrade at PG to become a more well-rounder, deeper team. Okafor fits their team perfectly as a defensive-minded center to replace the injured Perkins. Collison fills Rondo's role at a fraction of the price, and he is a better shooter than Rondo and almost just a quick as him. Plus they get a top 10 pick this year in Aminu, who would also fit perfectly backing up Pierce, and eventually replacing him at SF. This team could keep up with the Heat/Lakers.
Collison/Robinson
Allen/Bradley
Pierce/Aminu
KG/Baby
Okafor/JO
Hornets Get: Kaman
Hornets Give: Okafor/Collison
The Hornets get an all-star center to help make CP3 happy and to show him that they are committed to winning. They could easily bring back Pargo to be their backup PG again, while bringing in Kaman at C with Paul dishing to him will get the Hornets back in the playoffs.
Thoughts?

Hornets say yes, and I still think a move of Baron for Damp and Augustin is the best way to get rid of his contract.

Re: Trade Idea Thread
What's the point of dumping Baron's contract? So we can NOT sign Carmelo Anthony or whoever is rumored to be the big prize next year?
Baron is not the problem. even if he's not been the solution either. He's also still a hometown draw.
EDIT- If we were to acquire a guy like Collison, then it would make sense, sorry for bad reading comprehension. I think the Hornets trade proposal makes some sense, Hornets lose at a position where they have CP3 anyway, and gain a better center.

SportsFan, I don't understand that proposal at all. Who do the Clippers get? Maybe I'm missing something.
EDIT: okay, I think I'm less confused now... so the Clippers get Rondo, and the team will look like:
BD / Rondo / Bledsoe
EJ / Foye / Warren
Gomes / Cook
BG / Wallace
DJ / Perkins
Meh, I don't know if I like that trade for the Clippers. I'm not confident DJ can be a starting center, and Wallace is probably retiring if he comes to us.

The point was to get Rondo, who is a top 3 PG is the league, and will make BG even better. In this case, B-Diddy would be moved to make way for Rondo.

Re: Trade Idea Thread
The Celtics have shown and said that Rondo is their future. At this point, Rondo is even a top 5 pg in the league. There is no way in hell they give both Perkins and Rondo for only Kaman and Aminu.
