....but, I also think there are some deals out there you can get for him that make sense.

http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/240608/Doc-Rivers-Would-Prefer-To-Trade-Away-Blake-Griffin-If-Clippers-Break-Up-Core

I'm very aware of this, I already knew this before it was even posted as I listened to Lowe's podcast and he mentioned it, that doesn't mean I agree with that or I believe that the Clippers would actually do this.

Funny thing is, in that podcast before he did the stupid article, Lowe said "some people around the league said if he were to trade one of the three it'd be Blake, I don't believe it but that's what I hear" or something like that. It's pretty obvious then ESPN wanted to cash in on the Blake controversy and commissioned the article to get some clicks. He even starts the article by saying "I don't think they should trade him" and ends it with "they should trade Jordan or Paul before they trade him". Yet his editor puts the headline "Maybe the Clippers should trade Blake Griffin". Gotta love journalism these days

Basically he heard some rival execs stir up some sh*t and for the sake of clicks everywhere, the headlines turn into "Blake about to be traded" and everyone is offering their sh*tty 3rd rate packages like it's a real possibility for them.

This will blow over soon and people will be back to saying Paul is declining cause this is Blake's team in no time, or whatever knee jerk reaction the boxscores dictate that week.

Well they need to take the banners down because Josh Smith got traded. He was up there

More On The Griffin Incident

Post#144 » by Wammy Giveaway » Sat Jan 30, 2016 3:24 am

Clipper season ticket holders were given a survey via email today to rate how the Clippers have done as a basketball franchise. I was able to take this survey, but my questions were Laker-centic. The survey asked the following:

1. How do you feel about the Lakers history when it comes to:
a. Importance of the team to the community?
b. Historical accomplishments of the team?

2. How would you rate the appeal of the Lakers legacy and history?

3. How do you feel about the Lakers owner when it comes to:
a. Character and integrity?
b. Investment in overall talent?

4. How would you rate the appeal of the Lakers owners?

5. How do you feel about the Lakers GM and coaching staff when it comes to:
a. Building a roster with star potential?
b. Character and integrity?

6. How would you rate the appeal of the Lakers GM and coaching staff?

7. How do you feel about the Lakers broadcast when it comes to ease of finding local broadcast?

8. How would you rate the appeal of the Lakers broadcast?

Questions 9 and 10 asked about the Lakers arena and live game experience. I skipped those because I've never been to a game.

11. How do you feel about the Lakers players when it comes to:
a. Basketball talent?
b. Character and integrity?

12. How would you rate the appeal of the Lakers players?

13. How do you feel about the Lakers on-court production involving:
a. Win-loss record?
b. Competitiveness in games this season?
c. Team direction and hope for the future?

14. How would you rate the appeal of the Lakers on-court performance?

15. How do you feel about the Lakers team branding? Things like the team logo, colors, taglines, merchandise and jerseys.

16. How would you rate the appeal of the Lakers team branding?

Question 17 asked about the appeal and rating of Lakers involvement with the local community. NBA Cares stuff, pretty much.

Now come the Clipper questions. This was all I was asked:

1. Rate the appeal of Clippers team
2. Would you attend Clipper games in person
3. Would you watch Clipper games at home
4. How much do you think the upper and lower bowl tickets will cost
5. Do you own any Clipper merchandise

Lastly, I was asked to select one or a number of words to best describe the Los Angeles Lakers as a person.

Another Clipper season ticket holder was asked more Clipper-centric questions:

1. How do you spend your entertainment dollars?
2. What do you prefer doing versus other sports and local entertainment? (Outside activities, going to the movies, going to a bar, and going to the beach were also options)
3. Same questions that was asked for the Lakers, this time, in a Clipper perspective
4. Exclusive Clipper question: if a team had to trade a star, would you be more or less engaged with the Clippers?

That last question is a killer. It pretty much means Blake Griffin, or another star, may get traded this season.

A little too early to be talking about forgiveness imo.

From Ralph Lawler on The Beast 980 via Mason & Ireland:

Ralph Lawler wrote:I think the club wants very badly to come down with a very VERY firm decision; a SEVERE penalty. They've made it clear that they are TERRIBLY upset this happened. They do not EVER want to see it happen again. They will not stand for this kind of thing happening as part of this basketball team. It's not who the team is, or how they want to be represented in this city or in the league. I think you're going to see a very DRAMATIC decision, and that people will say "WHOA! Were they serious about this!"

Mason & Ireland - January 29 (Hour 2)

My prediction:
1. Suspension for the rest of the season
2. Possible automatic ban from the league for at least a year. If they go for life a la Donald Sterling, wow!

And, the original source, from The Beast 980 itself:

Plaschke & Zelasko: Ralph Lawler Interview (January 29)

Rumor is there will be a press conference regarding Griffin's punishment.

Wammy gonna Wammy.

I'm going with 3 games max from the league and a hefty fine from the team. A couple hundred grand seems reasonable since a staff member was involved and it lead to a serious injury. It should be way more, but that might actually piss Blake off.

By the way, what's the most a player can be/was ever fined?

i'm guessing he'll get 5 games at most. 2 by the league and maybe 2-3 more from the clips since the org seems pretty pissed that this even happened.

The NBA will announce the punishments for Blake Griffin.

Why is this a league punishment? Shouldn't this be a team punishment because it's a fight between two members of one team? It's like getting a tech for pushing a teammate makes no sense.

well i mean he assaulted a guy and it's pretty serious for one thing. visibility wise it's something the league (and all pro leagues) should handle anyway. basically makes a statement that violence is unacceptable and it's something to teach the kids.

besides, if you left it to the teams all the time i'm sure more than few would be sleazy enough to let their players go unchecked.

Austin Likely Named for His Ego Being the Size of Texas

Post#157 » by Ranma » Mon Feb 1, 2016 12:17 am

Look. I know Doc's son has explained that he runs his mouth with bravado to internally drive him, but dude can't be talking this ish to himself without verbalizing it to others? No, Austin. You don't deserve a banner up in the Staples Center rafters. You can thank your dad for you being up there and for not being out of the league while you're at it. You didn't deserve a spot on the US Men's National Basketball team either just like you don't deserve your contract.

Despite your big night beyond the arc against the Bulls, you're only shooting 25.7% from 3-point range on the season and you're shooting 68.3% from the foul line, coach's son. Not to mention that your assist-to-turnover ratio is practically 1-to-1 with 1.3 assists/game and 0.9 turnover/game averages. Why don't you start focusing on consistency and fundamentals before you celebrate yourself, you nepotic opportunist?

It seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face if the Clippers argue for a very harsh suspension.

I think Blake was totally in the wrong, but he at most deserves a two game suspension if you go by the precedent of Matt Barnes-Derek Fisher. Maybe a slight bit more if they view it as an assault on a subordinate.

Just listened. I guess Lawler must know something. I'm a bit fearful that he could be suspended for the rest of the season including the playoffs. I know you want to send a message if you are Ballmer that Blake's conduct was totally unacceptable, but that would be going too far and basically take away any chance that the Clippers had to contend this season.
