Re: The Clippers select Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jerome Robinson
Oh, these kids. Doc Rivers didn’t just “have” a lot of good PGs. Doc Rivers had a nearly 900 game career on very good teams—the teams he was on won 63% of their games and Doc went to the playoffs 10 times in 13 years. He wasn’t a bench guy either—he started over 600 games, and was a 13 and 7 guy that got a ton of steals. I know this was back in Olden Days, but it’s actually conceivable that Doc Rivers might have some things to say to SGA about being a quality starting NBA PG.

Reading Too Much Into Things (Or Not)?
The SI Staff, Sports Illustrated (9/17/18)
“SI remains the ultimate platform for sportswriting and I would not leave for another media outlet. But I was offered an extraordinary opportunity to work in the front office of an NBA team and see the league I cover from a different angle. I’ve been privileged to tell a lot of triumphant basketball stories over the past decade. With Steve Ballmer and Jerry West, Lawrence Frank and Michael Winger, Doc Rivers and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, I’m going to try to help build one."

The Ringer Ranks Backcourt Duos in the West
Jonathan Tjarks, TheRinger.com (9/18/18)
15. Los Angeles Clippers — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jerome Robinson
The Clippers will start the season with Patrick Beverley and Avery Bradley in the backcourt, which would be the smallest in the league, with neither player taller than 6-foot-2. Those two would be higher on this list if I thought they would stay together all season, but Los Angeles probably doesn’t have enough elite talent to make the playoffs out West. They could end up moving Bradley and Beverley in order to embrace their youth movement and get a higher draft pick. The future of the franchise depends on SGA and Robinson, the young guards acquired at no. 11 and 13 overall in this year’s draft.

Eh, I would say he needs to profile as a knock-down spot-up shooter this season, and early in his career. His true value will likely be unlocked if he can create off the dribble. He has the handles and creativity to spark my interest, and I was really excited to see him on ball in SL. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Re: The Clippers select Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jerome Robinson
I think Shai Alexander is not so shy and that is quite a positive thing, he looks very promising but some of the fans need to settle down little bit when thinking and projecting his role in LAC. Good thing is that Doc will count on him particularly and we know that he likes young players. He even said that his biggest successes as a couch came while he was working with young players. However we still need to see how will they react in real NBA games and specially in high pressure games. I am talking about both rookies and specially about SGA who will IMO get more minutes than JR and will have priority on the court over Teodosic and Tyrone Wallace. I think Doc counts on him more than on others.
PS.
When you type and search "LAC roster" Google gives you results according to RealGM as a first choice and that is something I have never seen before. RealGM seems to be trending upwards but if this forum wants to be the number 1, their programmers need to fix all the glitches first. (for example I cannot see anyone's avatar at this moment, can you? )

Re: The Clippers select Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jerome Robinson
Shai is already the best pg on the team by far. Just wondering how many minutes he gets starting off the season. Does he start right away or does he come off the bench in the first couple of weeks or so. The starting job is defintitley going to be his no matter what its just a matter of when. And I think Jerome will find his groove and get acclimated round Christmas time. He's gotta learn and get comfortable cause he's not a player that has the ball in his hands much. He's gotta start off looking good in a catch and shoot situation.
