CN: From covering the NCAA tournament, what do you think Shai Gilgeous-Alexander can provide for the Clippers as a rookie?

CP: I really enjoyed following and covering Shai Gilgeous-Alexander last season in the NCAA tournament. His athleticism and playmaking abilities for Kentucky definitely caught my eye. He has huge upside, and I believe his length and ability to play both sides of the ball were a huge pickup for the Clippers. He is the youth that the Clippers needed, and if they can grow him correctly on the offensive end, he will make an impact for the Clippers in the future. Shai will benefit greatly from the spread-out, open floor game of the NBA. In college, space was a huge issue, and it hindered his playmaking and decision making because defenses are more packed in and compact.

Does anyone think that Jerome Robinson will ever play this year? I'm yet to see him dress up. I thought lottery picks were generally ready to at least come off the bench.

He'll get an opportunity soon especially with all the bricks out veteran guards are throwing up on a nightly basis. Hopefully he'll ready when his number is called.

No blowouts yet, he'll definitely get in during one of those

Hopefully Bradley and Beverly will be traded by February for picks and expiring fodder, then Jerome can get fully into the rotation after that.

Again, not to diminish Shai*--who's looking like Da Bomb--or Trezz or Lou, but these fat stats are partly [or largely] coming vs. 2nd units. Pat and Avery and Gortat--all of whom have crap stats--are taking the brunt of incoming fire.

Which they're cool with, and so am I.

We got a team.

A couple of us on the 76ers board were really high on Shai going into the draft (top 5 high). He's a real gem, you've got a lot to work with with him. He also seems a great kid. Looking forward to seeing his career unfold with you guys.
