Re: Harden may be coming here?
Harden is getting severely underrated in terms of his value. He can still carry a team to the playoffs which will take the load of PG and Kawhi. If the only thing holding this team back is the stars injuries then that has to "help" immensely. His only real negative attribute is consistency in the playoffs, but is that not what the number 1 option is supposed to counter? Harden would be the number 3 on this team but would easily have number two level gravity for the others to work off of. Who was the number 3 on Philly? Tobias? He had zero gravity, in fact the Celtics used that to win by doubling Harden and shutting down the paint. Melton and Tobias went 2/18 from 3 the last 2 Celtics games and Tobias had 2 points in game 6. Harden here would be a similar setup the Nets had, when those 3 played they were unstoppable offensively regardless of the oppositions defensive rating. Sure there is drama going on but when these players get on the court the only outcome that matters is winning games and maximizing your chip chances - THIS YEAR! This is a golden opportunity in my opinion, of course I have a little bias because I watch him closely, but Iam not wrong in seeing the value in Harden here.

Thanks. Didn’t catch that as I have that account blocked for some time. Not sure how it showed up on my TL. It’s obnoxious.

I'm starting to believe Harden is more trouble than he is worth. No shock if he pulled this on us next offseason .

This may come across as a joke but it's not. I'll call it a win if we can get rid of Sr for a decent G leaguer.

The Future Of Harden Is In The NBA's Hands
Rumor has it this investigation will determine if Harden is eligible to be traded this season, let alone to Clippers. They could override both Sixer's ability to move Harden and Harden's abilities to request a move. While they won't look into the Clippers, they will decide if their trade package is of good faith. A previous trade involving Bill Walton with Trailblazers many years ago when Clippers were in San Diego resulted in forced mediation that cost Clippers very valuable pieces that hurt their playoff chances. In other words, NBA doesn't trust either of them. If NBA gets involved and determine Clippers played a part, league could bar them from making trades or any other acquisitions for the rest of the season.

good point, although we're offering even less
then again, harden is past his prime

Paul agreed to opt into his player option, which allowed the Los Angeles Clippers to flip him to the Rockets in exchange for Patrick Beverley, Sam Dekker, Lou Williams, Montrezl Harrell, Darrun Hilliard, DeAndre Liggins, Kyle Wiltjer, a 2018 first-round pick and future cash considerations.

Low-balling is illegal ? All Clippers has to say is "did anyone else make a better offer ? " it's take it or leave scenario for us.
It's also worth mentioning that we probably never had a legitimate interest in acquiring Harden. He probably wanted to come here, and told his agent to contact us. Our view might have been "if we can get him while dumping Morris, why not? "

I don't think Lou Williams, Pat Bev, and Harrell was a bad return for CP3.
Lou Williams and Harrell played outstanding basketball for a few seasons.
That 18-19 team deserves tremendous props- 48 wins with no all stars on the roster!

Yah, I loved that team too. But Bev was only a marginal starter, Lou was a lifelong sub and Trezz was a second-round 18 mpg banger. Dekker was a bust, the rest was cap filler, and the FRP was GSW's, a lousy #30.
CP3 had only just turned 31. Yes, we got some value, but not equal value for a HOFer still in his prime.

Well, so much for that. I'm not sad. We move on.

The Clipper fan understands the Book of Exodus better than anyone... what it's like to struggle 40 years in the wilderness... and Genesis.. why Cain went after Abel... So fLakers, look out... we're coming.

Depends on where the Clippers are around the trade deadline.
If they're not firmly in the top 4 in the WC, they will probably be more open to Morey trying to get them to trade their cow for beans.

I would say the opposite. IF Kawhi and PG are healthy and happy, the Clippers WILL probably be in the top 4 and Ballmer could go all-in.
If I'm Ballmer I don't trade a single asset [young players or picks] until I have the lay of the land. This is year 5 of a mostly failed experiment, and still a house of cards.

I'm overjoyed that Frank didn't make a panic move for once. I never wanted Harden and still don't. You can't win with him, period.

Going back to this, you are correct about the value, but remember it was an opt in and trade, so while yes, Paul wouldn't have been able to go to Houston easily as a FA, if the Clippers didn't work to get him there, the team could have gotten nothing instead.

Yes, some said CP did the Clips a favor not leaving them empty-handed. I don't know what the truth is, frankly.

I'd call that a win/win. That was the easiest way for him to get to the team he wanted, and the Clippers weren't left empty handed.

Re: Harden may be coming here?
I personally would love for the front office to trade for Harden (ideally before the season starts) especially if the 76ers' proposal if not too much (i.e. if it's something like Norman Powell and Terance Mann and a pick or two in exchange for Harden).
I am not looking forward to the idea of Westbrook being the starting point guard.

Re: Harden may be coming here?
- "The Clippers offered the Sixers an unprotected first-round pick, a pick swap and salaries for Harden in July, league sources say, but Philadelphia has set a much higher threshold. The Sixers have valued fifth-year forward Terance Mann and multiple first-round picks in a potential trade with the Clippers, sources added. Mann, who averaged 8.8 points and 3.4 rebounds a season ago, has become a prospect of interest for teams over the past couple years."--By Sam Amick and Shams Charania, The Athletic
SALARY: Something like this. Maybe Coffey too.

Re: Harden may be coming here?
Yeah, don't want to lose those 8 points and 3 rebounds from Terrance Mann. The Clippers are not a title team without those 3 extra rebounds a game.
Return to Los Angeles Clippers
