Jamal is a really nice guy and I wish him all the best, but trading him might be the best thing at the moment considering our limited assets. I just hope Doc breaks his streak of horrible GM moves and gets something good in return.

I don't see buying Lee out making a difference for this summer.

Rumors that Lance might be bought out? He'd be great and we can keep Crawful.

So Sanders, K-Mart, Prince, Bass, Nelson, Garnett and now Stephenson can be buy out targets. If we can snag K-Mart + Stephenson along with Sanders/KG/Bass, we can/should keep Craw.

The Warriors are already over the tax for next season and Lee has one season left. A buyout helps the Warriors immensely this summer.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Ah, I thought Lee was an expiring. Buy-out can be an option, but I still don't see it, at least not until the summer.

We can even make the Kings hostage of the minute by requiring that they give up superstar DeMarcus Cousins before they can get their stretch big.

Portland gets another good wing.

Also, if Billy King (or whoever is in on these discussions) deals Deron, Lopez and Johnson, the Nets have room for multiple max contracts in summer of '16. No way King is behind this...

Honestly, I'm not even mad. This team does not need yet another 2-guard, especially one who's decidedly average on a good day.

Now, if/when Wilson Chandler is traded elsewhere, I'll be pissed. He actually fits our roster, seeing as how he's the real small forward we've literally been missing since Maggette left.

Hopefully these past two seasons inspire Doc to attend a basic business 101 class where hopefully he'll learn about assets and liabilities.

Yeah to be honest Afflalo is a worse JJ Redick these days, really bad on defense and not good enough on offense to be an improvement over either JJ or Jamal. I know people remembers Detroit's Afflalo and his rugged defense, but he hasn't been anything close to that guy in several years. He'd be a downgrade from Barnes defensively when he has to guard SF's.

Chandler would be nice but he's above our price range. The Nuggets are asking for 2 first round picks and we don't even have the one.

We're probably gonna stand pat this deadline, and looking at our roster and tradeable assets, it's ok.

Hearing McGee to Philly who I assume will be bought out. Maybe we could snag him. Just a thought.

Yeah i'd like to get something done but we just don't have anything outside of jamal to really move. No point in beating a dead horse when it comes to our lack of assets, though.

But i will say this: it's looking incredibly short-sighted on doc's part to think he'd always be able to come away with super vets a la carte to fix the team's issues.

KG, for whatever reason, is adamant about not leaving his awful nets team, and it seems like the only way he'll consider moving is by going to an even worse team in the twolves. AK's a pipe dream since he's exiled and he doesn't even seem to want to play. Sanders doesn't want to play even if he could stop being an asshat. JO wants to retire. Allen might retire. Amare signed with dallas at the first drop of the hat.

I've thought for the longest time you CANNOT just bank on buyouts and mid-season pickups to bail you out. Cause what if those players you were banking on don't want to play? And what if they don't want to play for YOU? Again, KG has never mentioned any inkling of wanting to re-unite with doc. Allen has long been considered re-upping with lebron over anyone else. etc, etc.

It really sucks we're in this perfect storm of having no assets and no real mid-season vet options. But that is what happens when you put all of your eggs into one basket.

Sanders wants to play. He just doesn't want to quit smoking weed to do so.

McGee is definitely a buyout candidate. I believe the Cavs have been interested in him, but id take a shot on him for the season.

Also, buyouts are bought out for a reason. Remember how hyped everyone got about Granger and Big Baby? And how much did they end up moving the needle for this team?

Continuing to dumpster-dive for old vets when it has never worked is the definition of insanity.

So would I. Even if it meant just him playing 10 minutes off the bench every now and again. He's basically a second, lesser DJ.

We need more rim protection. McGee can do that, even if he screws up everything else.
He can finish at the rim and protect it at the other end. That's all we need.
