The Hornets improve to 2-0 after beating the Celtics 97-79. This one was without Eric Gordon who sat out with a sore knee. Kaman finished with 12 points, 9 rebounds and 3 blocks off the bench in 27 mins.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Ricky Rubio is the real deal

The dude is sick. I'm glad that he's finally in the NBA and I'm glad that he honored the situation in Minnesota. Kahn was persistent in trying to bring him over despite all of the talk that Rubio only wanted to play in a big market. I've been trying to catch every Wolves game that I can while NBALP is having its free preview. They're going to be a tough team to deal with this season at the very least.

Just saw on Yahoo Sports that Kings coach Paul Westphal has been fired. I guess all the Cousins locker room stuff contributed to that.

In case everyone hasn't seen it yet. Yesterday, the Charlotte Observer disclosed Baron Davis' most recent injury.

Thanks Charlotte Observer for announcing my new injury. Still able to workout with it. Lol

Question...Why does CP3 and Blake continuously complains to the ref when they are called for a foul? I love the NBA and try to watch all the games but I'm not a fan of a whinny player that thinks he never commits a foul in a game.

No player ever thinks he commits a foul. Most players petition to the refs. Some players scream out every time they drive to the basket near a defender, some oversell the contact, some give looks to the refs. Can it get in the way of the team? Sure. Every team/player has been the victim of a missed call at some point or another. Missed calls can sway the outcome of a game if it's close. Some refs hold grudges. As a result, players are trying to get what they can. Blake does sell a lot of contact, but he has also been beat up and taken harder fouls than most during his first 2 seasons. When you're built like him, everyone says don't cry over the ticky tack fouls. It happens to Dwight. It happened to Shaq and Yao. Bigs get fouled, but they're not going to get the call if they don't flinch.

Last night, the Clippers got a lot of unfair calls against them. I'm not saying that is the only reason that they lost, but the Blazers definitely benefited from the whistle. I don't know if you have ever played organized sports or not, but officiating is the most frustrating thing ever. I have only ever told off one ref after a game, but you start to get pissed when their calls seem to lean heavily in favor of the other team. I'd rather our guys get back on D, than focusing on the previous play. The refs overturn some calls, but it is few and far between (and therefore not worth it).

On a side note, people have a problem with players "whining" over calls they didn't get. When a player gets a cheap call or bailout call in his favor, does he go tell the ref that there wasn't actually a foul committed by the opposing team? No, he goes to the line and shoots his foul shots like he deserves it.

Hack-A-Dwight by the Warriors put Howard into the record books. 39 Free-throw attempts to surpass Wilt's 1962 record of 34. He made 21.

It was frustrating enough when Jackson did it to DeAndre, but tonight was just ridiculous. It can work, but have some faith in your team.

Remember we had a short discussion over this. The Hack-A-Player is indeed a double edged sword when used extensively, it ended up hurting the Warriors if anything, even if Dwight was making half the free throws.

People were talking saying the Jazz are so good. They beat us when we were without CP3, and Mo Williams..... We beat Dallas with just Mo Williams. When Dallas beats their ass tonight I want to see what the General Board has to say. Of course none of this means anything, it's early in the season, but the GB talks so much crap.

I'm sure everyone has heard that Russell Westbrook has signed that big extension with the Thunder. I do hope that Westbrook and Durant can find a way to co-exist and make things work in OKC.
