meh. i wasn't a super blake fan before this but the more i think about it the angrier it makes me. takes some kind of scum to be physically destructive against someone who is so much smaller than you.

blake is the best thing to ever happen to the clippers. Its not blakes fault that the guy is smaller than him. Blake is still a dummy for doing what he did, but stuff happens sometimes.

Imagine if Ron Artest did this to little Matias.

it's definitely blake's fault that he didn't recognize the size disparity and realize his actions may have a bit more consequence than if he got into a fight with Serge Ibaka or Zach Randolph

Update: Suspension Imminent

Post#185 » by Wammy Giveaway » Sun Feb 7, 2016 4:20 am

From CBS Sports:

James Herbert wrote:As you're undoubtedly aware, Clippers forward Blake Griffin is also sidelined with a broken hand. He punched equipment manager Matias Testi in Toronto on a road trip, and is expected to be suspended soon.

All that's left is to determine the length of the suspension and who will issue it. If the league issues it, Clips get a tax break. But they won't qualify for a replacement player.

Calendar Calculations And Thoughts

Post#190 » by Wammy Giveaway » Tue Feb 9, 2016 9:41 pm

Griffin committed the punch on January 23. Initial reports of healing is 4-6 weeks. Doc Rivers was giving it at least one month. Now we have a certainty: four-game suspension.

If Griffin misses at least 6 weeks, his return date would be around the first week of March. He could be back for Game 60 vs. Thunder or Game 61 vs. Hawks. Those two games will be either suspension dates or healing dates.

My guess is Griffin will miss the following:

- Game 62 vs. Mavericks
- Game 63 vs. Thunder
- Game 64 vs. Knicks
- Game 65 vs. Cavaliers

Cavs and Thunder are top seeds. Clippers are 1-8 against top 3 seeds in each conference, but winless against top 3 western conference teams. My prediction is they stay winless against Thunder and Cavs.

There are conflicting reports that the NBA is handing down the suspension, but I'm reading that the Clippers are the ones handing it down. I don't know who's doing it, so we'll have to wait for some kind of conference to clear up the air. But I can say these:

1. Griffin's remorse prevents it from being a full season suspension.
2. This punishment proves that the Clippers will not trade Griffin. His contributions to resurrecting the franchise and spearheading a culture change weighed too heavily for them to really throw the book. He's their prodigal son - they're going to see through a championship together, even if they lose again in the 2nd round.

We're going to find out, once and for all, is love is the ultimate X-factor for the Clippers come playoff time.

We have 2 wins against top 3 seeds Wammy. How many times do we have to say that just because a team falls off from a top 3 seed a few days later doesn't negate the win.

I'm not going to change my stance on this, Forte. The only way I will is if both the Hawks and Bulls claim the 2nd and 3rd seeds. Otherwise, I'm sticking to my guns.

either way, this is getting ridiculous.

heh, should have seen what he said about dudley in pregame. basically said he was shipped out because he was bad, even though doc forced him to play through injury.

i absolutely despise the guy. blames everyone else for his mistakes and he refuses to admit that he has zero eye for personnel.

Do you think his crappy attitude hurt his trade value? He is a top 10 player, but between the injury and his locker room issues, I think they could nab him. Read in a bunch of articles, including this one: http://wedabestnbapodcast.com/2016/02/who-will-win-the-nba-finals-in-2016/> "There have been talks of trading Blake Griffin for a piece that makes sense on this team, such as Kevin Love or Carmelo Anthony – two guys who have better offensive range than Griffin. However, until they do that, the Clippers are unlikely to make or even win the Finals this coming summer."
If they can get melo or Love they gota do it ASAP, right?? They play better without Blake, imagine adding a long range scorer to the mix.

I would say no to both, honestly. Definitely not for melo. He is what, 5-6 years older? Love could make some sense, theoretically, but hasn't played well the last two years. Looks like Love is only great on bad teams.

Redirecting the Wrath

Post#200 » by Ranma » Wed Feb 17, 2016 7:27 am

Maybe BG should release his frustrations out on opponents so that they don't carry over and spill into his off-the-court dealings. Sending a message to opponents who cheapshot him would have been better than what he did to an internal staff member. However, in light of the incident, I'm guessing Griffin will have to walk on egg shells in the immediate aftermath.
