Re: Kawhi Leonard?
I am starting to wonder if Jerry is collecting expiring contracts like Gortat's and Wes Matthews' to use in a Kawhi trade.

They could try an opted in DJ, Tobias, SGA, and picks package but that still sounds less than what the Lakers could put together.
The expiring contracts could help if the spurs want to dump gasol and patty mills.
If the Clippers do this type of deal, they’d have Kawhi but not much else. No future picks no cap space.

If I remember correctly, I think there's a rule in place where a player that was recently traded can't be traded again with multiple people involved for 30 days. It can be a 1-to-1 scenario. But not Gortat plus more players.
If the Clippers win the championship next year I'm getting banned from RealGM

The Lakers' young talent is not as great as the media has hyped them up to be.

Brandon Ingram trump anything we can offer. Dude wont turn 21 until training camp. You start tossing in #1 picks, Kuzma, Hart, ect. That pretty appealing for a guy who is about to walk in 12 months if you cant repair the space between you and he.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

At this point, Ingram is the most overhyped young prospect I've ever seen. If he played for literally any team other than the Lakers, he wouldn't be getting this much hype based on a good month or two in a career that has otherwise been underwhelming so far.
He's not worth gifting the Lakers a superteam. The Spurs would be dumb to do it.

I like him as a developmental piece who definitely improved in his second year. My question would be, where are you trading Kawhi and for what? I agree I wouldnt gift the Lakers a super team. But if they decide to part with damn near every young player and draft picks, its a no-brainer.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Gortat can be traded with other players 2 months after the trade.

If you're going to get crap in return no matter what, they can at least get some other team's crap instead of the Lakers' crap and avoid gifting them a superteam.

Could put together and will put together are two entirely different things. Plus, considering the animosity Pop has with the Lakers, he'll ask for much more from them than most any other place.
DJ/Tobi/Shai/Thornwell/WeJo for Kawhi/Mills (or Pau) might intrigue the Spurs.

The Sixers are dangling Saric, Covington and a FRP? Duh. Spare parts. Garbage. Any moron would offer that for one of the top 5 players in the NBA.
And no, the Clips can't top that offer even if Tobias is involved, which he would have to be. And if you trade Tobias we have nobody for Kawhi to play beside.
Jeez. Let it go, people.

Regardless of whether I agree with him or not, Bowen has been a subpar color commentary guy for the Clippers' broadcast. He at least actually sounds like a better analyst.
