honestly hearing doc's interview after, i get what PG is saying. i don't think he should be criticized for being weak.
they are in the bubble. whatever support system PG normally has isn't there. so yeah it makes sense when he goes back to his hotel room, he's stuck in this vacuum where he can't cope with criticism the way he usually would.
still listening to the interview btw. emotional. really glad he's saying what needs to be said.

He should. When Lebron james was talking about it, everyone told him to shut up and man up. Same precedent for PG. I know he's home sick and it seems like a scrimmage and not a real game, but he quit on his team for more than 3 games which is very unprofessional to do and open himself up. Keep it in the locker room. This is not for the fans to hear. Media is already jumping on everything the clippers do. They think Morris purposely stepped on Luka's ankle.

Yeah I think PG just fighting his demons and if we advance and face Utah then more will be on the way. Will build his character for sure

I sympathize with him. I just don't think PG should have said it publicly.

that's pretty much what i was thinking. he was alluding to mental health more than anything in the interview.
when he said he checked out, i definitely did not take it to mean as "i gave up on the team." so yeah i'm content with his interview and i hope he can stay strong the rest of the playoffs.

I'm not. Again, I sympathize with him. I just don't agree with making himself vulnerable to the world. I know he has to be couped inside reading social media all day which makes his depressed and gives him anxiety. So why open yourself up to that? He's gonna read the tweets tonight. Just say my guys picked me up. I was struggling. Not everyone is an understanding fan.
If he told the clippers he was going through anxiety and depression, that's a different thing than telling the world.

Pg needs to definitely take break from social media but I felt what he was saying. Think about these dudes had to do three weeks worth of scrimages and regular season games and now are still barely in round one of the playoffs. You still have two more rounds to go to even reach the Finals. That is a long azz stay in the bubble if we get that far. That's got to wear on you. I'm sure we'll see at least a couple more ups and downs if we keep advancing.

I felt what he was saying too. Just corny to say it publicly. People attacked james for doing so and he's the face of the league. They're not going to be more sympathetic with PG. PG also takes it more to heart than LBJ. LBJ was probably just missing family and couldn't care less what the haters had to say.
Pretty soon they'll be allowed to bring in family. I think the conference finals right?

Dangerous plan but Doc at this point has fully committed that he doesn’t give a damn he’s going to play him against Boban. Might be some of it to keep Trez motivated and some of it ego because everyone has told him to stop. The players will win this championship so it’s going to be a interesting ride onto game 6.
P.S Doc let Harrell play this whole time and surpass Zu in minutes what a A-Hole! lmao go Clippers !!
They both played 24 minutes. Zu had his 24 by the middle of the 3rd. Trezz got most of his minutes in garbage time--although he was plus+19 in his first 8 minutes and put us ahead going away--BEFORE halftime.
What you Zu fans don't seem to see is that Zu never blatantly sucks. He just starts watching and we leak points. That's when he gets yanked. He was only plus+10 tonight in a game we won by 40. Look, he did fine. His 24 minutes were when it really mattered. Perfect night.
And as previously noted, the only way you neutralize Bobi is to make them pay at the other end. Trezz couldn't do it in the other games so the results were awful. But I had Bobi at minus-4 at the half and he finished at minus-19--I think all those 2nd half minutes were against Trezz, meaning Trezz beat up Bobi for plus+15 points in only 11 head-to-head minutes.
Trezz DESTROYED Bobi.
Zu is who you want when you're playing them even or better. Classic 5 man. But when you need somebody to make it happen, Trezz is your man--a team-best plus+34 in 24 minutes. That's sick. That's Trezz.
You just gotta outscore these guys, punish them--41-35-35-43 points in quarters tonight. It's those 19-point quarters that kill you.
Even with the defensive changes--less switching and Doc said he just let Rex and Ty mix up the coverages to give Doncic different looks--the Mavs' starters were 26-54 [48%] from the field and 11-26 [42%] from distance. You'll take that ANYTIME. But every Mav starter finished minus-20 or worse because we PUNKED them down the other end.
I was pleased Trezz kept up his intensity. 7-11 FGs and 11 rebs. That's his game. That's Trezz. Outwork them. Not outworking the Mavs has been our problem, trying to outskill them. Well, that's BS. We were not putting in the work.
As always, not dogging Zu. But Trezz--when he's MONSTATREZZ--is special. He didn't deserve the garbage thrown at him. He's a CLIPPER. We're not gonna win this thing without him.

Professional sports, TV-driven politics, social media. None of this is real.
So PG missed his shots for 3 games. Big effin' deal. You send anybody to a "Bubble" in Florida and expect him to perform the same in his--already not-normal--regular life?
The most important person in Trezz's life dies suddenly and he's supposed to leave The Bubble, go live in another pandemic "bubble" while they bury his grandmother, then COME BACK and perform at his physical level of 5 months ago???
People, let's get a grip. All these guys deserve a fckn BREAK!! They deserve a fckn medal!!

I can sympathize and have a different take. I don't have to agree with every action that he does. I can sympathize with the emotions his mental state. I don't have to agree with him making himself vulnerable publicly so people can continue picking on him and he reads it continuing this circle of anxiety and depression.
We can agree to disagree.
