Re: Off season, free agency, coaching change.
The Process is NOT going to happen here. Not because of Frank but because of Ballmer. Blaming Frank for Ballmer is like blaming Dak for Jerry Jones.
And the Process [the original, in Philly] was a frigging disgrace. No way Ballmer goes for that. And it didn't pay off anyhow. Never got out of the second round and Embiid is a cripple now.

Re: Off season, free agency, coaching change.
I really think these "workouts" are more for the summer league team or, maybe, the #51 pick. Because there's a lot of prospects that are good between about 10 and 35--we're talking about a low level of difference in potential impact or difference in that large span--I think teams are playing it unusually close to the vest leading into the draft. Not just us, but most/all teams. A few guys have had a lot of workouts. But they're like the people we're bringing ... likely to be fringe draft guys or guys that are under the top 35 level. Caleb Grill, who we brought in, has had something like a dozen team workouts. Johnni Broome, who we brought, had a bad combine day--he's had 5 workouts. OTOH, Will Riley and Adou Thierro have had one verified team workout. I can't find *any* team that has worked out Danny Wolf or Yanic Konan Niderhauser or Walter Clayton, Jr. Those are five guys that could go in the upper 20s or even low teens--and could well be available to us at 30. Lot of mystery in this draft. If I were betting, I'd bet on plenty of draft day moves, too.

This workout list has just been more evidence that Frank blows off the draft and doesn't value it at all. I'm still waiting for this team to do anything at all to prove otherwise.

It isn't. Here's the link to the website tracking workouts. Some teams have more, some have less.

We’re in the middle of the teams drafting just above us that don’t have an earlier pick.
Miami -- 2
Indiana -- 2
Orlando – 3
Clippers -- 11
Phoenix -- 13
Boston -- 18
Phoenix's workout list looks a lot like ours in terms of quality.

I try not to be insulting, but of course the Clippers take the draft "seriously." Ballmer throws money in every direction at everything that doesn't count against the salary cap. We have had the highest-paid front office in the NBA ever since he demoted Doc and even before. Winger, Redden, Walsh [Welch?], whatever.
You cannot make a silk purse out of a sow's ear no matter how many millions Ballmer throws at scouting and "developing" 30th picks and second-rounders and UDFAs. FFS. If you can't make the opening day roster or get out of G-League within a dozen games, you're ASS.
SGA had played 37 NCAA games and Doc had him STARTING by Game 10 in the NBA.

Saint Thomas and Brandon Huntley are pretty intriguing for the #51 pick. That's why they're here. I suspect we--and everyone else--is bringing in players and just not advertising or talking about what they're doing and who's coming in.

Re: Off season, free agency, coaching change.
This is weird--I usually *never* come up with trades ... maybe because we haven't had tradeable assets. But we do this year, so I have thoughts.
This is a good plan, IMO.
Orlando trades:
Cole Anthony
Goga Bitazde
#25 pick
#46 pick
Best second round pick (they have two) in 2026
Orlando receives:
#36 pick
Norman Powell
Clippers trade
Norman Powell
2026 second round pick (from ATL trade)
Clippers receive:
Cole Anthony
Goga Bitazde
#25 pick
2026 Second round pick from Orlando
Brooklyn trades:
#36 pick
Brooklyn receives:
#46 pick
2026 second round pick (from ATL trade)
Cash considerations from LAC
Why for Orlando: They want/need shooting and energy off the bench. Powell was in the top 4 of 6MOY voting in 23 and 24, and was a borderline all-star as a starter in 2025. Anthony’s minutes are being cut. Goga’s playing time dropped after the all-star break and in the playoffs too. So they get the best/most impactful player and still have the first round pick at 16 and a high second round pick at 36, while holding on to a second round pick in 2026.
Why for the Clippers: Powell is the best player in this trade—but he may not be what the Clippers need. They need a backup big—Goga fits the bill. They move up four spots in the first round, keep #30, and get a second next year to replace what they send out. Anthony combines with Bogie as the bench guard duo and (try to) take up Powell's minutes and scoring. We get (a lot) younger with two first round picks, 26 year old Goga and 25 year old Anthony.
Why for Brooklyn: They basically swap #36 for #46, a future second and money. Since they have four first round picks, dropping the second round pick’s value for a future pick and money makes good sense.
Overall: This is a version of a trade I posted on the trade board, and revised slightly based on some comments there.
I really like Norm and appreciate what he's done for us. But I don't feel bad sending him into a good situation with Orlando, which needs bench scoring and efficiency (and passing--so Norm provides two of three needs). Anthony had an injury filled year last year, but has shown he can be a good NBA player. Goga simply doesn't fit on a team with Paolo, Mo Wagner (and, look, they're holding onto Mo because of his brother), Isaac, and Carter. They have a glut of big men. Getting two first round picks and filling one big need and having a decent chance at a reclamation project in Anthony and getting a real whole lot younger is enough to make up for losing Powell, IMO.
