If the Los Angeles Clippers want to win a championship, they call the Brinks trucks to Gregg Popovich. LA Clippers have no discipline, no chemistry, no accountability.

This team needs someone with ring credibility That can manage all the egos and pull rank when needed.

He's 71.

How many more years is he gonna stay on the sideline?

I doubt Pop or Kawhi would have any interest in a reunion.

Not up to Kawhi. It’s up to Steve Balmer, one of the 10 richest people on the planet.

You already mortgaged the next 5 years of your future. Get the best coach in the NBA. 5 time champ.

You have one shot at winning the title in the next two years. Go all in.

He's another player coach that's infamous for his unwillingness to make adjustments in the playoffs. It would be Doc all over again.

Out of all available options, I think Lue taking over for now makes the most sense.

Ty Lue is interviewing for the Sixers job today.

Apparently he is the number 1 option for the Pelicans and David Griffen.

That's the James effect. Lue is not like Spo. Hes not proven imo. Spo have proved himself in the years since as a coach.

It's hardly brought up, but the big edge with Popovich is his experience in the military. His five years of service with the United States Air Force showed in the Spurs: being meticulous, moving in silence, and playing for the good of basketball (and humanity). Three of the Spur's five championships included times when the league was in dire straits: the 1999 NBA Lockout, when greed nearly cancelled a whole season, the 2004 Malice At The Palace for Ron Artest attacking a fan (a part of the 2004-05 season), and the 2014 Donald Sterling scandal.

Couple problems:

1. Pop is 71 years old. Does he still have it?
2. Clippers have no picks; they'll have to trade players first. Spurs aren't letting Pop go easily.
3. Trading for Pop means no Aldridge or DeRozan. Do the Clippers have interest in either?
