So I consider PG's return this season to be really iffy, even if he is re-evaluated on time that doesn't mean he'll be cleared to play.

That being said, in 2021-2022 IIRC he came back on schedule at the end of the season and balled out his first game back, and despite a longer layoff generally played well until he got COVID for the play-in game (man was that a gut punch.) I don't know the extent of his injury and how accurately the team is reporting it, but I do believe PG is going to do his absolute 100% best to return for the playoffs (or play-in.)

The hyper extension Giannis suffered a few years ago looked horrible too and I think he only missed 2 weeks

I've said it before: Giannis does not get the credit he deserves for not only bouncing back so quickly from that brutal injury, but doing it in such dominant fashion too.

There are athletes and then there are athletes. Some people's both bodies and mind are built different than others. Those people are rare. I know a woman who climbed Everest just 7 weeks after tearing her ACL while skiing. She had surgery after, recovered, and still tearing it up on the slopes. Giannis has that mindset. You cannot heal your injury with positive thoughts, but sometimes if you put your mind to it, your body listens.

What should probably be a 3 week sidelining will be a 3 season one with Rufus from Trapped in the Closet being our medical director.

If this isn't another FO smokescreen, then at least PG won't be sidelined for a year

So it's been 18 days since they announced that he would be re-evaluated in 2-3 weeks.

Clippers won't play for another week I believe, since they avoided the play in with the win today.

So it will have been more than 3 weeks before the Clippers play their first playoffs game in Phoenix.

If PG13 is going to be available for that game, he needs to be doing basketball activities at practices this week, at least shooting and some different drills to at least test that knee and to regain some fitness.

Maybe he's been working on fitness already, even if he hasn't been doing shooting and other BB drills yet.

I'm not a doctor, so all this is coming straight for my behind.

PG does not look like he'll be able to return anytime soon. Some might even say he looks worse now than Kawhi did when we still hoped he might return for the conference finals. But again, not a doctor, just based on the injury and the clip of him walking around with a knee brace.

I think that if PG does play again this season, he probably rushes back and is far from 100%, and/or the Clippers do some incredible stuff without him and extend their season way longer than one could've hoped.

Just don't want to hear about any surgery the day after we're eliminated. Whether it's with us or another team (a bit too soon for such conversations), have him ready to go for next season. Anything earlier than that would be incredible.

I am surprised that he even traveled with us. Why even have him in Phoenix, so that this kind of video can get out?

The only thing I can think is that this is intentional on the part of the Clips. Are they trying to make Phoenix scramble in their game planning today? Does Phoenix now have to worry about PG playing tonight? He looks like he is ready to go in the videos I have seen.

he probably wants to be there to support his team and provide advice on the sidelines

I would expect PG to make an appearance in Game 4. PG at 80% would be more than enough to nullify Craig's contributions. We don't need him to come in an play his prior role. We need him to come in and take Batum's role.

Game 4 would be a good game because it is the matinee game. We take care of business in Game 3 and then Phoenix starters will be coming off of heavy minutes and on short rest.

PG in those defensive slides looked like he was cutting fairly well. They don't bring him on the trip if he isn't close to returning. They would have kept him in L.A. working at the training facility if he was truly out for the series.

I agree with this with the caveat that if we win game 3, he sits game 4.

No caveat. We win Game 3, he is still playing game 4. Him coming into a matinee game of a 4 games in 6.5 days stretch would help lock in a 3-1 advantage. At worst, he comes off the bench. Move Mann into the starting spot for Batum.

My casual fan intuition tells me that if he does play in this series, it's going to be either G6 or G7, if we manage to win one of the next two. Maybe he gives it a go for G5 if we find ourselves down 1-3. I doubt they'd rush him back in the dream scenario of being up 3-1.

I also don't think Ty has any interest in bringing PG off the bench, after the failed Kawhi experiment early in the season.
