RELATED: Victor Wembanyama's regression, explained: This is the reason the Spurs rising star's scoring stats are down
Now, there's no way Victor's not going to be a perennial All-Star and DPOY candidate. But it's easy to sneak up on the league, and once they get some video on your tendencies and weaknesses and start game-planning for you, you better have more in your bag. Remember Linsanity?

- Teams have started placing smaller players on him, and he hasn't been able to punish those mismatches. The Thunder had 6-4 guard Alex Caruso as his primary defender, and Wembanyama was completely neutralized in that matchup. He let Caruso off the hook by bricking 3s against him, and he got it stripped when he tried to drive it. Dillon Brooks and Klay Thompson also held their own in other games. Rather than taking it inside, Wembanyama settled for extremely tough contested fadeaways against smaller players.
When the Spurs do run plays to get him deep catches near the basket, he is simply unstoppable. His arms are so long that he can get it to the rim before a contest is even possible.
Wembanyama has to get those kind of deep seals more often, and his teammates have to find him more. Part of the problem is that while Wemby added five pounds of muscle during the offseason, he still has the frame of a wing player. He can get pushed off his spots. Another part is that even with Paul, the Spurs still don't look for him enough.

Simply we let him off the roster because he hasn't showed any type of game maturity. This and Spurs cut after preseason apparently was the wake up call for him.
This is not a knock for us or spurs org. It's juct a kudos to pelicans for giving him a rare 3rd chance and kudos to BBJ for finally get it that iso scoring is just not it.

I'm not taking away from Brandon's play, but Pelicans are 2nd bottom in the conference. He's not putting up 26 points a game on a winning basketball team any time soon.

Moussa is balling in Charlotte too.
We are bar none the worst team in the league at developing young talent. I've said it before, but if I was a draft prospect and the Clippers drafted me, I'd pull a Danny Ferry rather than allow this team to derail my career before it even starts.
It's not excusable anymore - never was, really, but it's even worse with the new CBA. There's no valid reason why these guys couldn't have been doing this here.

Whatever helps you sleep at night knowing damn well he'd be perfect next to Harden or at least relieving Harden on the 2nd unit right now. The Pels technically a winning team if Zion's fat azz would suit up and Brandon Ingram was consistent. Our front office f*cked up yet again is the bottom line.

Facts and these we're players on cheap contracts and would've resigned for on the cheap as well. Lawrence Frank will talk about we have to prey for a 2nd round player to develop and taking chances on fallen talent like KPJ and Kai Jones. We have and had the 2nd rounders Mann, BBJ, Moussa, Jordan Miller.. with Mann being the one left standing the least talented out of the four. Jordan Miller will probably shine on another team in a year or two. I'll give them credit for Coffey and hoping KPJ keeps improving. I was a BBJ truther, so you know this pisses me off. I was sold after that 27 point game against the Celtics. But I knew it was going to be another SGA outcome but on a Walmart Great Value level.
Sheesh!!

Told y'all about Moussa.. the campaign was just a year later in another state
/s
I mean, we'll see.. but definitely keeping an eye on Moussa and see if he can be the two-way role-playing new-age big we all wanted him to be..
At least got Kai Jones; but has stopped playing basically.. would like to see him get a bit more consistent time off the bench.

Good save, since this thread is really off-topic.
Watching the pathetic Sixers-Hornets game, two of the worst teams in the league. Because of Charlotte injuries, two-way player Diabate is out there in crunchtime, 4 points and 11 rebs, not stinking up the joint in a game that's stinking up the joint.
On the Sixers side, I really should have hated on Pandemic P more. I didn't really do it much, though he chased the overachieving Trezz [whom I love] out of town and deliver the biggest choke shot off the side of the backboard in NBA history while dying like a dog in The Bubble.
He did it again tonight, on the last possession that could have avoided overtime for the Sixers [which they won, in which he didn't play.] You'll see it on SportsCenter.
And since the topic is Brandon Boston, PG [8-18, 1-9 from distance], with Embiid and Maxey out, he was out there DEFERRING to a 20-year-old who's been in the league about 20 minutes named Jared McCain, who went for 27 points. Â
What a complete joke. Any kid can have a hot game but it takes a grizzled veteran to go out there and be a complete worthless nothing piece of

I'm a PG guy because I'm originally from Fresno and I watched him play at Fresno State. That's one of the main reasons I defended him alot here and on other boards. He still does a lot for the school too. I wish him well in Philly, but he is not our problem anymore and it's a relief for me cause I was getting tired of sticking up for him. Whew!

It's a good thing PG feels no pressure now that he's older, or something.
I wish the man well, but yeah how can we not take a few shots at him right now in Philly. Not because of actual production so much as just a complete lack of stepping up and trying.

Re: Brandon Boston Shining in New Orleans
Here it is--PG takes the last shot to avoid overtime. Took the inbounds pass and instead of heading for the hoop, iso-ed himself in the corner and took this pathetic near-airball.
Not off the side of backboard but almost as bad.
PANDEMIC LIVES!

There were fans who actually wanted to give this guy the max and sit through even more years of this. He's already washed now, how were you guys expecting him to look when he's 37 and still getting paid top dollar?

Literally everybody on our board and also on Xwitter was fine with letting PG go and are laughing their asses off that he's even worse than expected in Philly from the git-go
keeping Beard instead has so far been pretty brilliant
dragging along a team of nothings and nobodies to .500

BBJ had a KPJ game last night LOL- 7 points on 3-13 shooting, but also 7 boards and 10 assists.
