Boneheaded turnovers. I can’t.
5-19. 6 costly turnovers. And he looks around like it’s someone else.

Going to lose another heartbreaker. Remember when we used to beat the Lakers? Those were the days.

Re: GAME #59: LAC (32-26) @ LAL (36-21) — FRI 2/28 7 PM, ESPN
Team is cooked. Kawhi is damn near washed if not completely. Harden sells the end of every game with huge turnovers. Simmons is useless. Coffey is decaf. Bogdan is washed. At least Mann played defense. Let Moussa Diabate walk but didn't believe in Mo Bamba, Eubanks, and Kai Jones? Team is a mess. Bench is ass after the trade deadline. Move on from Kawhi and possibly Harden. Build around Norm and Zu. I don't even give a sh*t if we make the playoffs, play in, or whatever.

He needs to be less ball dominant at this point of his career. This ain't 2018 no more. Too bad Doc v2.0 is too stubborn is change up the offense.

Leonard looks cooked on offense. He has little to no confidence right now in his game.

40 years old man not getting hurt and kicking your aşş while your body already broken does that to you. 2-6 at FT line? This is mental.
I used to afraid any contact Kawhi had in games to fear he might injured. Welp, I don't give a sh*t anymore because he's not gonna help even if healthy. Cooked.

Let's not get too down on Kawhi- he missed more than half the season and is slowly getting up to speed. I remember when he returned from the ACL tear and everybody was saying he was finished- and then he played some of the basketball of his career last season before having his knee flare up again

Also, Kawhi played 38 minutes- more than he's played all season, so it makes sense he would be a bit worn out by the end of the game- still he was a +7

There has to be a better defensive scheme than switching every time a screen is set- making Zubac guard LeBron or Luka is a flawed strategy. If at all possible, they need to stay on their man. I also don't understand the strategy of having Bogdan guard LeBron- he is too small.

All the starters were in the plus. All the Lakers starters were in the minus.
Simmons and Bogi were minus-19. Coffey was minus-13 and Batum was minus-14 in only 11 minutes. No matter how you slice it, we lost the bench layers' minutes. Break even on them, we should be fine.
The problem is, Kawhi, Beard, and Zu all played 38 minutes. Not only does the bench have to play better, they have to play MORE.

I missed the second half.
But from what I was able to see in the first half - the Lakers defense was strong and forced Clippers players to be uncomfortable or to make mistakes. Give Lakers credit.
LeBron is a unicorn and single
Handily makes the Lakers a contender. What the hell is up with Luka? It’s as if he forgot to shoot or just isn’t trying?
Get to play Lakers again soon. Hoping Powell returns.

I honestly forgot all about this game. If people like me are getting this apathetic about this team, it's probably not a good sign.
The entire Kawhi era has either been this or "if we had a healthy Kawhi..." on a loop. It's not tenable for the fanbase or team to keep doing this. The Kawhi experiment has failed, it's time to move on.

you might be right- I'm just pointing out that people have shoveled dirt on Kawhi before and then he returns to form eventually

Whenever Frank, Lue, or any of the beat writers talk about Leonard and health it’s to do whatever it takes to get him to the playoffs.
Maybe he’s lost some of his step but it’s obvious he’s on cruise control too. He’s parked more at the 3 point line or screening for others than his usual plays. Whether in the post or clear out. None of the usual 20 shots to get him going as in years past. Not guarding the best player 90% of the time.
Will this game plan work? We’ll find out.
