Re: Clipper 2015 Offseason
while i would have liked tayshaun 3 years ago, these days he's done. relying on him to be your 2nd unit SF is asking for bad things to happen. and unfortunately, psycho-t hasn't shown he can do anything very well in the league.
ray allen is an intriguing name but it's difficult to say how much he has left in the tank. you would think that if he did he'd have given it a shot. one whole year off from basketball and i don't see him coming back, let alone be able to play at a good enough level.

marco belinelli is an FA.
but if we want a 3 point shooter who probably can't defend that well anymore, id prolly rather have him than Ray.

PG. Chris Paul/Austin Rivers/Lester Hudson
SG. J.J. Reddick/Jamal Crawford/C.J. Wilcox(If both aren't traded)
SF. Paul Pierce(MLE)/Lance Stephenson/Jordan Hamilton
PF. Blake Griffin/Carlos Boozer(Vet Minimum)/Royce White(If signed to NBA Contract)
C. DeAndre Jordan/Alexis Anjinca/Rookie(Possibly buy 2nd Round Pick)
Royce White will need to live in LA and will never play a road game. He's afraid of planes.

A year off did wonders for ARod. I'm sure Ray can still shoot the 3 ball w the best of them. I wouldn't mind him as a ~10mpg 3 pt specialist.

Re: Clipper 2015 Offseason
well, baseball players tend to play way late, much closer to 40 than basketball players, as much less is required of them conditioning wise. allen's in the basketball dead zone you kind of cringe at when you hear their age. PEDs i'm sure extended arod's career a little bit as well, helping his body recover faster and stay more durable over the years.
i'm sure he can shoot, it's just difficult for me to envision someone at that age being able to give it all for 10+ games in the playoffs without dying on the court. either way yeah if he could give us 10 minutes a game in the playoffs, i'd take it.

Royce White is not making the roster.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Royce White, probably not. Carlos Boozer with no defense is of no use to this team, and Boozer + Crawford like someone said, no thanks. Team is looking for a third big that can defend. Problem with giving Pierce the MMLE is that there's nothing to use to sign Ajinca. Clippers, well most fans at least want Jamal gone.

Allen took a year off and is old, very questionable what he can bring now.
Hansbrough is not filling the need for a third big, someone that can defend, and if only one guy, someone that can play both PF and C. Prince is done.
Let's say we have:
Chris Paul / Austin Rivers
J.J. Redick / Lance Stephenson
Paul Pierce (MMLE) /
Blake Griffin /
DeAndre Jordan /
The team is looking at what they can trade Jamal Crawford for, and if packaging C.J. Wilcox along, then that will happen. Next the team is looking for a 3rd big man who is capable of defending. Ideally a PF/C, but if not, probably more of a C, then bringing back Big Baby if nothing else materializes.

Re: Clipper 2015 Offseason
You guys should give à chance to glenn robinson III i believe he is a free agent this summer and i doubt philly signs him back with all these picks they have this year.
He could potentially be a good fit for you guys and you could definetly get this guy for cheap and on a similar deal like hassan whiteside.
I would rather you guys take a chance on those undervaled althetic young wings than those old washed up vets like hedo and dante jones.

Re: Clipper 2015 Offseason
yeah me too.
funny cause over the years i've always wanted specific guys like: demarre carroll, james johnson, shaun livingston, thabo sefalosha, AFA, i mean, these were OBVIOUS, OBVIOUS names IMO and for the cheap. these kinds of guys were a GIGANTIC market inefficiency just waiting to be exploited.
it's then sad cause you figure someone like carroll with his level of play gives us a ring this year, and any one of johnson, livingston, or thabo helps us battle golden state to at least 7 games. all we needed was just one. and now that GS has won the way they have and guys like carroll and middleton have blown up, we'll never be able to get them on the cheap ever again.

Re: Clipper 2015 Offseason
I'm probably a minority but I can live with bringing Big Baby back. Adding The Truth and packing Jamal for a defensive Center would more than make me happy. I would consider that a very successful off-season.

Just saw CP3 like Brandon Bass's photo on instagram.

Re: Clipper 2015 Offseason
Brandon Bass would be great.
Nick, definitely agree, Livingston, AFA and Sefolosha have been on my lips every-time they were available. Can't say you want to get better on defense and not get players who are good at defending.
What is GRob III's calling card as a player? I know he's athletic, so I wouldn't mind adding him to try and develop into a defensive guy. That's an alternative way of adding a second round pick, scour through last years picks. I'd give him a summer league spot and camp invite for example, see if he can play his way onto the team.
Also, can Jeremy Evans play basketball yet, or is he still just an athlete?

Re: Clipper 2015 Offseason
Bass would have to be a S&T, which hard caps the team receiving the player.
DJ's upcoming max deal puts us right around the apron, so Bass or any S&T isn't an option.

why would bass have to be S/T when we can use VM or MMLE on him?

Cause he's worth around double than the MMLE.

until someone actually signs him, a guy who doesn't put up a lot of stats isn't a foregone conclusion to get twice the MMLE.

Re: Clipper 2015 Offseason
Does anyone know what the status of Emeka Okafor is? I see that he had a herniated disc in his neck which sounds serious. Since he missed over a year now, is he basically done? I think he could be a great defensive big off the bench.
I hope we can sign a "bigger" big, instead of the undersized ones like Big Baby. Is Kwame Brown available? I've always like him as a defensive big. Or maybe we should just roll the dice on some random, jacked D-League big just for the inside presence (not sure if one exists though).
