It's wild that the Braves had McAdoo, Moses Malone, Adrian Dantley, and Randy Smith all on the same team and couldn't keep them together. Just goes to show that this franchise's old history of ineptitude and dysfunction actually predated Sterling.

Problems with small markets vs. large markets was greater back then, before the salary cap.

That's how Kareem and Chamberlain ended up on the Lakers. Teams outside of NY and LA, maybe Boston, simply couldn't generate the revenues to pay stars.

It wasn't simply that these teams were too dumb to let talented players go.

True dat. Chamberlain would take off for NYC to party all night after home games in Philly and threatened to join the ABA if he wasn't dealt to LA. Maybe the worst trade in NBA history:

In 1968, the Sixers traded Wilt Chamberlain for Archie Clark, Jerry Chambers, Darrall Imhoff, and an undisclosed amount of cash.

This is the first time that a reigning MVP was shipped out the next season.

At least Embiid is calling him (and Harden) out before it's too late:

As for the Kyrie stuff, never wanted anything to do with him, and this was even before the anti-vaxx stuff. His post-game interview tonight was a complete clown/horror show. And then you have the whole Ben Simmons situation... Pour one out for Nets fans.

Durant is locked in for 4 more years so he isn't going anywhere unless he forces a trade.

Nash was a figurehead, chosen after KD and Kyrie got rid of the previous guy, who had taken the Nets to the playoffs before their arrival.

Nets had decent depth but the Harden trade and him turning into something way less than an MVP-level player screwed the team.

Then they had to fire sale him and the players they got back weren't too helpful in the playoffs.

I think KD was unhappy with the Warriors after the first year or two. He didn't like the area as much and he wasn't tight with Curry or Draymond off the court -- those two were raising families or starting them during this time.

Fact that every season, he'd only sign 1-year deals meant he had his foot half way out the door.

Him going to Brooklyn is partly about wanting a BFF but Kyrie has repeatedly shown he's unreliable.

Remember when Glenn got blown out by Snyder in a Game 7 at home and blew a 3-1 lead to Malone?

Is this a new social media trend? Do Twitter users also post screencaps of random RealGM replies?

In any case, should've won that Wolves game. Who knew that all we needed to do was not have the lead going into the 4th.

there are about 200 million Twitter users

there's a whole world outside the handful of people--especially when they're unfailingly negative--who dominate every Real GM board

it is good for our lurkers to see other opinions

Yeah, who could forget Austin's heroic performance in Game 7 of the Finals? Oh wait, that was just a first-round series that we lost. Easy to get confused from how the local media still slobbers over that game.

Tom, the Board just isn't as fun. I am so bored by this stuff. Hence, why bother posting. One of these days maybe the mods will crack down so we can get back to talking basketball and we can set up an "I hate Rivers (son and father)" board where such people can thrive.

Genius, have you noticed how the traffic on this Board has declined. Congratulations, many have taken you up on your invitation already. You will soon be king of all you survey.

not sure if you noticed but clips got eliminated in the play-in already

activity on this board generally dies out once we are out of the postseason, save for a few pet topics. this happens literally every offseason. i think you don't notice because you generally only come in here to post in about one in three game threads, while the rest of your posts are about the lakers in addition to your posts crying about the doc rivers thread and how it's irrelevant to the clippers - which i add is quite ironic when he's about 1000x more relevant to this team than anything having to do with the lakers.

noted though that you that you choose to swap in condescension for logic and reasoning. not sure if it's because you choose to or because you lack the latter pair. it's all good, though. every poster has their thing. i would only suggest that you try not to get upset every time people don't want to talk about ONLY about what you want to talk about, but it's been suggested before and you seem to be happily ignorant of said suggestions.

true/og - feel free to do what you need to do with my post as i realize it's not quite in the right place, and only in response to someone purposely trying to derail discussion (again) from a dedicated thread (again).

Can we talk about basketball and Clippers basketball? Is that so wrong?
