Max Headrom wrote:So do you play Noah or something next game? Because Zu and Trezz have been horrible. The answer isn't just put Zu in, he has a total of 4 points the last two games and have been dropping passes and rushing his shot at the rim while Jokic has been going off. Our big play can't be this bad man, it just can't

Zu was not horrible. He missed some shots but that's not what he's in there for. Each time he was in there in the early game, we push the lead up by like 8 or 10 points. But doc still elected to go with harrell in the jokic mins.

Doc finally got what he wanted: a Game 7. He tanked Game 5 and 6 just to inflate the Nugget's hopes so that he can crush them in a win-on-go-home situation. His players stay fresh this whole time, thinking that the Clippers will be ready against a fully rested Lakers in the conference finals.

But, there is a bad side to this. Seeing as how the Lakers under LeBron James tank Game 1s just to get a feel of their opponent, what if they allow the Clippers to take the first three games, then storm back from 3-0. James pulled off the miracle 3-1 comeback in the NBA Finals, which was 0-32 until 2016. No team in NBA history has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit at any point in the playoffs. If anyone could pull off that feat, it's gonna be LeBron.

The Clippers could be walking into that trap. And Doc Rivers may have unintentionally sealed their fate.

This is why teams must always close out their opponents once they have 3 wins in their belt. If you're up, you gotta finish 'em. Play with your enemies, and you give them a chance. Too much of it, and the roles are reversed.

EDIT: A saving grace, maybe...

dude its over. Doc doesn't see it. We were in a good position to win a title and doc is pissing it away. It's over man.

Trezz has been a net negative all series long. All playoffs long.

marcus morris didn't give us anything

and patrick beverley just acted like a damn fool giving up fouls left and right. those two guys are critical cogs who gave us nothing.

but obviously it was harrell who began the sinking of the boat. and doc's insistence on keeping him in. patrick patterson would've been a superior option.

I don't know why playoff Beverley has this belief that just hacking people is helpful. Fouling is not good defense

it's the thing i hate the most about him and i would pay good, imaginary money to trade him with a real defender like marcus smart, any day.

didn't fathom doc would screw up the best player in the nba on his roster and another top defensive forward, but here we are. The journey was a smooth road with 1 or 2 bumps in the road, but doc decided to take this off road. Even if we win this, No confidence we will win against the lakers. Doc rivers is a terrible coach.

No doubt.

The bizarre performances against Dallas should have been warning signs.

So we've blown 3 15+ point leads this playoffs? Or is it 4?

It was never about does this team have enough talent to play win it all.
It was whether they were going to jell after all the LM/ injuries/ trades/ times off before bubble. It was about whether they were going to mature after coughing up a 21 point lead to Luka and Co. It was about whether they were going to treat every quarter/ half/ game seriously.

Just as their performances were bizarre, I found it bizarre that people acted like this team had no flaws, no weak points, and no growing to do. It was only a matter of having faith.

Wonder what Game 2 means to us now. :banghead:

Doc man. Doc. Doc did this. MTV tried to warn us. This is doc. I'm done with it. This is a 4-5 games series and he turned it into a game 7 series.

I did not watch this game specifically for the sake of my sanity because I was worried we would blow another lead. So happy I made that choice now.

I was nervous these last two days but f*ck it.. I feel free now. Its nothing we can do about this. Doc is going to Doc and these chokes is is why our fanbase stays in a nervous mode with no pride. I think this team has tuned Doc out. Its at the worst time of course but it is what it is. You got Ty Lue sitting right there ready to take over. I'll watch game 7 but no more emotions from me. I have to enjoy and live my life

Trezz needs to be benched like Reggie has been benched. He was supposed to bully their bench and give us instant offense. Instead, he's turning it over, leaving Jokic wide open for multiple 3's, and because he's been missing shots lately, he's not giving us any offense either. So you have a guy who basically provides nothing. He only played 15 minutes, but just the mere act of putting him in the game, seems to lead to a run for the Nuggets.

You say this like there isn't a very good chance that he'll still be coaching the Clippers next season. Ballmer has consistently believed all of Doc's excuses during his time here, and while I'd like to think this situation will be different, I sadly won't be surprised if it isn't.

I'll say 3 and a half lead blown. We had one where it was getting close but kawhi stopped it by scoring 8 straight points. This team has all the talent in the world to win. Its the coaching. This is supposed to be a five game series. The coach isn't making adjustments. Balmer better not keep this guy. He's a terrible coach. He has all the resources, all the analytics and refuses to learn from his mistakes.

Pretty much how I feel right now. Doc is Doc ain't nothing gonna change. If we win Tuesday it will just feel like a regular season win to me. If we lose I hope Ballmer grows a pair and fire Doc.

Vogel benched Mgee and Howard. Two key guys for him all year in order to win the houston matchup. Yet, Doc isn't willing to to bench either lou or trezz to win a matchup. This is absurd coaching. That is ridiculous. The sample size is big enough. Trezz, this isn't his series.

I said doc was the best remaining coach in the west. I lied. Its vogel. Vogel made the adjustments. Doc did not.
