What a crazy Gobert trade, we really started a trend with PG. But 2 of the picks we gave up weren’t our own, which reduces the time it takes to turn over all the picks, and the trade was necessary to sign Kawhi.

So who caves first?
Lakers are waffling on the amount of draft picks and want Curry instead of Harris.

Yes, it was both-for-1. A bargain. Gallinari was baked and Shai is a nice player but is not an aircraft carrier--he's more like an attack jet that's in the hangar half the time. Love the kid but he's in the Kemba/Hayward zone.
And if they're in the 20s, they're monkey picks anyway. None of the picks Doc "gave away" turned into anything. And the PG picks won't either--even this year's that went to OKC that unexpectedly turned into the #12. This was such a crap draft the #11 and #13 were traded away and OKC took some guy from Santa Clara.
The T-Pups are hoping they only traded away monkey picks too. But we got Kawhi Leonard AND Paul George and they only got Rudy Gobert?

I liked what the 76ers did--made Ben Simmons suffer and add to his own humiliation and all Philly fans were in agreement. The Nets gave KD everything he wanted--Kyrie, Harden, Nash and even signing his pal, the totally baked DeAndre Jordan, for FORTY MILLION.
If I were the Nets owner, I'd go sail around the world and leave KD, Kyrie, Simmons and the rest of this zoo stew in their own juices. Let them whine to Woj and Twitter for awhile. Screw them and screw Westbrook and screw the Lakers who don't have any draft picks or young talent or even any cash anyway.
I don't get any of this.

Who is she directing this to? Westbrook?
Kobe was certainly a winner, but I’m not sure he always prioritized that- for example, he pushed Shaq out the door.
May he Rest In Peace, but I consider magic the greatest laker ever

It sounds to me like a Kyrie deal isn't happening because she's too cheap to pay the luxury tax, and she's subtly throwing LeBron under the bus in advance to avoid taking any criticism herself. The narrative will be that LeBron is making unreasonable demands, not that the Lakers are a dysfunctional circus of a franchise.

Kyrie has a lower salary cap number for this year than Westbrook, whom they're eager to ship out.
But that means Nets would pay more in luxury taxes so they want more compensation like draft assets.
So Lakers in turn wants someone like Curry, who's on an expiring deal this upcoming season. However, the Nets want to give them Harris, who's owed $38.5 million more for like 3 more seasons.
But that tweet may also be frustration at Russ opting in. What did she think was going to happen, that he wasn't going to opt into almost a $50 million payday?

Best fLaker of all time, by far.
Let's not let the tragedy overshadow what happened on the court.

The Clipper fan understands the Book of Exodus better than anyone... what it's like to struggle 40 years in the wilderness... and Genesis.. why Cain went after Abel... So fLakers, look out... we're coming.

Thomas Bryant back to the Lakers. They’ve made solid additions this summer.

Yes, but ... mmm. He's played about 20-25% fewer games than Kawhi in the last three years. Think about that. And I'm leery of players that excel on bad teams. When he wasn't hurt, on a pretty bad team, Bryant was good. Lotta "ifs" there.
The things that interests me, in terms of us, is this from the RealGM blurb:
Bryant will have an opportunity to start at center for the Lakers.
Bryant picked the Lakers over the Raptors, Celtics, Bucks, and Jazz.
We aren't mentioned. That means that we're more comfortable with our frontcourt than some people (like me) think we should be. It also means we're looking for, if anything, more of a 4 that can play 5 than a 5 that plays sometimes at 4. It also hints we might be okay with Mook staying. Lot going for a guy we weren't ever connected with.

Re: Around the NBA II
I just saw a post about Harrell not being signed on the general board and it reminded me about his whole situation.
Harrell had a bad departure from the Clippers, he was on the Lakers and complaining, he went to the Wizards and it is suggested that he was a part of the dysfunction in their locker room. He goes to Charlotte and it seems fine as far as I know, then he gets into easily avoidable trouble.
If the guy isn't careful he's going to be out of the league because teams simply won't want to deal with him. He's 28 years old now, not 23, the maturity expectations are a little bit higher.

Bryant is supposed to be a pretty poor defender. I'm assuming the Clippers aren't particularly interested in a poor defender like him for the team make up.

Hopefully his next destination is the Clippers. He does have the Kawhi connection.

that would be great- perhaps he could help Wall, Zubac, and Mann. Everybody else is a pretty good shooter

Well the team treated him like they didn't want him.
But they can't let him walk for nothing either so unless they can still do a sign & trade, they may have to match.
Return to Los Angeles Clippers
