Well he took a 7-hour flight from Anguilla to Van Nuys airport. Doubt it's only for a high school game.

Now do rich people fly in their private jets to Van Nuys to avoid the traffic at LAX (both for planes trying to land and for driving from the airport)?

Or was he hoping people wouldn't notice he's in LA if he flew into a smaller airport?

He didn't show.....but Devin Askew is a baller. Class of 21 and the best PG. I wouldn't mind adding picks and tank for him

Dude. Askew is an infant. And you want to endure 2 years of Clipper misery for the small % chance we can draft him, so he might get good by 2023?

It's way too early to start thinking about 2021. Let's focus on the 2019 draft, where there's a lot of great wing prospects in the lottery. I like Rui Hachimura and Sekou Doumbouya.

We have to miss the playoffs to even use our 2019 pick which is why I was against 2 picks for Kawhi months ago.

Good thing the team is in a spot to do that.
Good thing we're in a good spot to do that without tanking so others wont bitch about it.

Just hope Tobias 4 Playoff Games in My Career Harris sees the vision and wants to re-up instead of bolting to a more ready contender.

LeBron gave up on winning in his prime. He's earned all the criticism he gets now.

I think this puts an end to Kawhi to LAL as I doubt Pop will gift wrap them a championship...err...a Conference Finals berth.

Great. LeBron goes to a fanbase that has **** on him for the better part of a decade just to make sure their peanut head superstar stayed ahead of him on the all time list.

It's time for a multi-year tank. None of the second-tier stars available next summer will make us relevant or a contender. The focus now should be on Giannis in 2021.

These posts seem to be saying the opposite things?

I think he just came to a richer team -- biggest local TV contract in the league -- so if he demands certain personnel moves, no matter what it does to their payroll, are they going to refuse them?

For instance, he might push them to do the Kawhi trade, whatever it takes, rather than waiting to sign him in free agency. After all, Lebron will be 34 in December.

It really sucks that through doc’s incompetence, bad luck, injuries, and choking that the clippers couldn’t accomplish anything in the past 6 years. Cp3 would probably still be here and Lebron would have joined him

I actually concur with wco81. The Lakers are better poised to acquire Kawhi as the hold up seems to be their willingness to give up Brandon Ingram, which they are reluctant to do. LeBron's presence may change that, but at the same time, it doesn't seem like that is even the case as LeBron reportedly expressed patience. The Lakers are well poised to compete after next season as they can either accelerate that process earlier by trading for Kawhi or possibly waiting the Spurs out and sign him as a free agent next summer, although Philadelphia's engagement throws a monkey wrench into such machinations.

The key for the Clippers was to acquire Kawhi first to try to sway LeBron since it was not much of a secret that he was inclined to be in Los Angeles to close out his career. In the end, Magic was able to close the deal because the Lakers are historically a world-class organization while the Clippers are still waiting for own arena to be built and wearing second-class designed uniforms.

The funny thing is that we can now afford to either take the risk of trading for Kawhi and his questionable health or not pursuing him altogether since we're stuck in a treadmill situation now.

I don't begrudge LeBron for making the decision he's made as he's earned the right given his play as the league's best player, but I was hoping we could convince him to add to his legacy by turning around a historically moribund franchise like the Clippers and starting off a line of retired jerseys rather than join the all-time greats in the rafters of our in-town rivals.

No? LeBron's the one who talked about "chasing the ghost." Now, he's made it clear that winning isn't really a priority for him anymore.

In contrast, the Clippers weren't winning this year regardless and won't be for a while. It's time for a rebuild.

And they still won't beat the Warriors, so it's all pointless.
