Is there a reason we can just get Wall deal inked? Maybe to help facilitate the ‘consolidation trade’?

It’s like draft night. I keep waiting/thinking they’re going to do something (outside the goal of signing their own free agents) and then nothing. But if I go to bed then they’ll do something.
I’m pathetic yes.

Crazy how our biggest moves have all come out of nowhere- Blake, Tobias, PG/Kawhi, Norm/RoCo...I don't think any of them were rumored before they actually dropped. I mean even after all the previous moves, who was expecting Norm/RoCo?
That John Wall hasn't already been signed makes me wonder. We haven't heard of any other teams in the mix for him and I hope it stays that way. But what else may be coming?

So I read on Twitter that Wall’s buyout hasn’t actually been finalized, hence the delay on his subsequent signing.

He wasn’t officially waived until yesterday. Hopefully we get the news tomorrow after the 48 hour waiver rule I think.

"With Phoenix, there's far less belief the Suns will ultimately match whatever offer Ayton can draw. The relationships between him and Phoenix's other primary actors—most notably head coach Monty Williams and point guard Chris Paul—seem untenable for an Ayton return."

What exactly did Ayton do to have soured his relationship between him and the teams other primary actors? How do you get to a situation where a coach like Monty Williams is not pleased with you, you have an issue with your point guard, and there's no implication that Devin Booker is standing for him either. This is after his teammates were talking about getting him paid all season...
Or is it a case where the team doesn't want to give him the max and he's not happy that the other guys aren't standing up or him to get the max?
That whole scene burned to the ground when the Suns didn't show up for that game 7 against the Mavs. Ayton refused to go back in the game when they were down bad and him and Monty had to be separated. Plus they didn't want to pay him as they paid everyone else including Landry Shamet of all people.

Yes, the silence on Wall is ominous. As a former corporate headhunter, I can say we never believed a word we heard--the only thing we ever knew for sure was what WASN'T being said! Frankly, Wall should be in the bag by now.
Me, I'd rather have the Reggie/Wall tandem on the Clippers than Kyrie, so I hope the Clippers aren't getting too cute. My better guess is that although the Clippers are sniffing around the Nets earthquake, it's Wall who's fielding calls from around the league and slowing things down.
OTOH, if the Clips are sincerely chasing Kyrie, the ethical thing to do is to let Wall's agent gently know there are...complications in the air. The Clips still have some healing to do to their business reputation to after making Blake a #Clipper4Life and then 3 months later dumping his ass in NBA Siberia [the Pistons], effectively ending his NBA career in humiliation.
The Clips handled the Hartenstein situation wonderfully. Sal cap rules won't let us pay you what you're worth. But our gym is open. Hart just got PAID by the Knicks but he's #Clipper4Life. The healing is underway.

Trad-5s are common as dirt. 3-point marksmen aren't. Life isn't fair. The Suns have Monty and the Point God and made the Finals and you ain't jackspit. I don't care about your PT and I don't care about your contract status.

Ayton refused to go back in the game
If I'm your teammate you are DEAD in my eyes. You NEVER refuse to enter the game. Coach calls your number, you PLAY. That's what professional means.

The more I look at what affordable backup centers are still available, the more I'm becoming a fan of bringing Blake back and calling it a day on that front. If he actually wants to come back, that is.

Mrs. TVD and I became Ja fans watching the playoffs without the Clippers. Fantastic player. Great kid. Team leader. Only 22 and the world at his feet? I wish him the best.
I do not think I could have handled it. I KNOW I couldn't have. I would have destroyed myself and probably everyone I loved too...

since they went to the trouble of Photohopping it
aside from dunking over that defenseless Kia, Blake has NO NBA legacy--
in fact he's kind of a joke
known for injuries, flopping, whining
worth $200 million and nobody respects him or even likes him and his personal life is **** too
be careful what you wish for

I want Boban if he becomes available. He is one of my favorite Clippers of all time and is actually effective against Jokic. I'm not really being serious, but it would be nice to have him around.

Payton in Portland and Brown in Denver are solid moves.

It is. Otto Porter going to Toronto is another one too.
I really like what the Kings are doing.

Re: Transaction Discussion Part 4 (Trades, Free-Agency, News, Rumors & Ideas) Offseason Version!
The debate about our TPMLE has been Hart or Wall, or why wouldn't Wall sign a min. so we can re-sign Hart. I think the 2-year deal puts all that to rest.
If we could have convinced Wall to a min. deal, it would only be for 1 year. We don't know for sure what he has in the tank, but I think 2 years $13M is an excellent calculated risk. Finally, we don't even know if Hart would have stayed for say the same 2 year $13M. He got 2 year $16.7M, Hart has not made much money in the league so that difference is not insignificant. I think it worked out well for all parties.
I just realized we don't know the details on the 2nd year yet....let's see.
