In One season, Ty Lue, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George have become the greatest clippers in clipper history, win or lose from now on.

First Clipper Headcoach to make it to a conference final

Kawhi - Resume speaks for itself and what he's done this year

PG - Won game 5 and Game 6 without Kawhi playing big mins, avg 32 points in the wins without kawhi to advance to the WCF

LMAOOOOO, what a joke. The sad part is that the Sixers' ownership is actually going to believe nonsense like this from the con man and talk themselves into keeping him, just like the Clippers did for years. Carlisle is right there and they're going to let Doc waste the rest of Embiid's career instead.

What's next, it's a make or miss league? Morey left him a mess of a roster? He might as well go through all his greatest hits.

I do want my question answered on where would we be if Ballmer fired him in 2015 like he should have....

But there's another thought.
And it must be brought out.
Is he really better at coaching than POBO?

Yes... barely. As a coach, he can get carried to one ring by three Hall of Famers, Thibs' defense, and one of the most stacked benches in recent memory. He could never assemble a team close to that as POBO. He would have traded Pierce for the future draft rights to Austin Rivers if he was running the Celtics back then.

if doc is smart he will learn from this and get better, now that the media is turning on him and he's losing his defenders.

it's over. Doc will have his job but the cat is out the bag. He will choke again and once he does, he'll be regulated the sacremento kings, orlando magics of the world then fizzle out hopefully and retire.

Look at Vinny Del Negro and Mike Dunleavy, they couldn't even get an assistant gig in the league after the Clippers days. Mike Dunleavy last I heard, got fired from a coaching gig in a private college.

I agree. I watched him say it.
Doc deflecting blame again?

No one could see that coming.

On this rare occasion, I agree with Skip. Even if Doc believes that, he shouldn't have said it publicly.

They basically have to trade Simmons- he is a huge liability in the post-season. However, throwing him under the bus doesn't help his trade value- that's for sure and also makes Doc look like he is passing the blame onto Simmons- even if warranted, makes Doc look bad.

that's who doc rivers is, you know? never holding himself accountable. always laying blame at others feet.

it's no wonder who his fans are, given they have the same level of cognitive dissonance.

If he doesn’t think he can win with Simmons, why he play him so much?

Wow.!

This loss vs Atlanta might be the worst of all. Not only did they blow large leads, they were the #1 seed and lost 3 of 4 home games. Completely inexcusable.

You know who could have won with Ben Simmons? Nate McMillan

This is why I can't totally agree with the narrative that "he's not a good coach, but he's a good guy." He'd at least be able to admit when he's wrong, accept his failures with class, and stop throwing others under the bus if that were the case.

I knew this topic was going to be on fire. I actually like the 76ers players but can’t say I’m all that sad at what happened.

Let’s move past Doc now it’s over and done

if you can't win with the best player on the floor, let alone the superior team, and it happens OVER AND OVER

it's a "you" problem

Unless you see the DIRECT quote, NEVER believe the media. That's not what was asked, it's not what was answered.

Rivers was asked after the series whether he believed Simmons could be the point guard on a championship team.

“I don’t even know the answer to that right now,” Rivers said.

Simmons scored just five points in the game and was unplayable at times in the series due to his free throw shooting. Even when he was in the game, he feared shooting the ball.

"Unplayable," lol.

End of story. Ben has to get "into the gym" and fix the problems with his game. THAT'S what he said. Everybody knows that if Ben is allowed to be Ben, he can be part of a championship team--just not as the 2nd best and 2nd highest-paid player. Or as your point guard. Unless he gets real. I follow the Sixers. Doc took the heat for Ben all year, hoping the light would go on. Instead it fell down a well.

Rivers defended Simmons over his shooting struggles this season. But after Simmons became such a playoff liability, Rivers no longer could keep up the political correctness. Philly could look to trade Simmons, but they might not get great value for him anymore. Simmons has four years left on his $177 million contract extension.
