Re: Around the NBA
The Hornets just beat the Jazz 96-85. Eric Gordon was on fire in the 4th and lead them to victory. I remember Ralph mentioning that any combination of 3 between the Jazz and Clippers will clinch a playoff spot for us. We won last night and Jazz just lost. Unless I'm not following what Ralph said we could clinch a playoff spot with a win against the Warriors tomorrow. I saw that David Lee won't be playing tomorrow so that improves our chances of winning.
Now hopefully the Nuggets beat the Lakers tonight.

I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

Re: Around the NBA
3rd place or 4th.
if we finish 3rd we get easier 1st round game but then get the spurs who usually have our #.
if we get 4th we get harder 1st round but we 2-1 vs mem. and we play okc who we match up better .
and fakers match up better with the spurs.
so we can have clips vs fakers in western finals.

I'd be singing praises just to get out of the 1st round.

The 05/06 season was our (numba2 & myself) first year on the board. That was a great time to be a fan. I had some evening classes at the time and it was a good feeling to hear other students talking about getting home to watch the rest of the Clipper game. This board had quality posters, but activity could have been higher. Often times, there were no game threads or they weren't made until after the games were over.

I'll be the only Clippers fan in DR screaming and cheering.

Re: Around the NBA
If Memphis loses tonight against the Jazz, Dallas will only be half a game behind them. If Dallas can somehow snatch the 5th seed, and knock Memphis down a seed, sending Memphis to the Lakers that would put us in a nice position.
I much rather play the Mavs.

Re: Around the NBA
Hornets beat the Grizzlies 88-75. Thankfully the Hornets could help us out. (Unlike the Mavs)
I'm saying this now since we don't play for the Hornets for a bit. We really need to look out for them and not over look them. They just beat the Jazz and now the Grizzlies. They are getting healthy and don't have some many scrubs playing regular minutes.

They also have two lottery picks coming up. Yeah, the Lakers trade was so much better eh? Odom seems to be doing great.

A 2-game advantage with the tie-breaker means a lot for securing home court advantage for the first round. When we do play the Hornets, it's going to be an interesting game. Neither Kaman nor Gordon played and it will be the first time since the trade that they've played in front of Clipper Nation. Gordon will definitely be out for blood. It's going to suck having to play against him, but it should be fun as well.

Anyone with some sense knew that the trade that went down was better than the initial trade that did not go through. I agree that Stern should have handled it better and been straight up from the front, but anyone still crying about it needs to get over and deal with it.

Re: Around the NBA
Marc hyper-extended his knee in the Hornet game and will be getting an MRI. I hope it's not too serious.
In the first round, every series will have a b2b set. I hope that it's a home and home between the 2nd and 3rd games. If it's a b2b in one city, then that puts the home team at a disadvantage imo.

That could be helpful when we play the Hornets. I just want us to win as many games as possible. I'll be interested to see the lineup the Hornets put out since it always seems to be changing.
Marc J. Spears

Hornets center Chris Kaman likely out for rest of season with bruised left tibia.

Re: Around the NBA
i want okc 2nd round.
but if spurs keep this up. and we get 3rd works
if we run the table fakers play okc and spurs that 2 losses
since they got tiebreak on us(now that spur game and 1st mini game wish we could get those 2 back. even jersy game)
coulda been fighting for #1 seed

If Vinny would have kept Gomes on the bench, we wouldn't be in this mess. There's quite a few games that we fumbled away. If Billups never got hurt, I think the 1st seed could have been very much possible.
All we can do now is just win. If we win out, then we probably take the 3rd seed. If we drop one, then we mainly need to focus on keeping the Grizzlies at bay.

Re: Around the NBA
interesting... thoughts?
Ray Allen has privately felt slighted by the Celtics over the past few weeks.
Allen was nearly traded to Memphis at the deadline and he has played a bench role since returning from injury following the emergence of Avery Bradley.
Allen will be a free agent this offseason and his odds of returning to the Celtics have diminished, according to the Boston Globe.
