West was probably on the phone racing to complete the agreement with Teodosic while Doc was at the golf course instructing his cronies to reach out to Rose and Rondo.

I know literally nothing about Teodosic, but from all the various clips people are posting, he reminds me of a poor man's Steve Nash. Great passer and shooter who doesn't play much defense. I'm pretty excited about the signing. Can't wait to see the lobs and no look touch passes coming next season.

So true... He has some kind of obsession with busted players that he thinks he can turn around.

I'm not saying Teodosic will be at that level but he could be a good playmaker off the bench for us even if his defense is lacking.
I really am hoping he is good enough to start for us. like I said, didn't know diddly squat about this kid until yesterday, but after seeing his highlights, stat sheets, and what others are saying about him, I have high hopes.
ehhhhh f it.

I like the deal especially since we didn't pay too much for him. He should pair up well without Beverly in the backcourt and give Blake and DJ plenty of easy buckets. I am worried about what I hear about his lack of defense. I can see a Tony Allen sign and trade for Wes coming soon.

I like this signing and the other players the Clippers have picked up. Sure, they are not championship contenders, but I am actually excited to watch the Clippers again. Haven't felt that way for a few seasons now.

Somebody has to say it so it might as well be me...
...it is interesting that everyone is praising this signing (among others) and giving Jerry West all of the credit -- while pretending that Doc has been locked away in a cellar somewhere devoid of any influence on this current teams structure.
Ok, fine...I'll play along.
But if this Milos character sucks and this collection of talent ends up winning 36 games I don't want to hear a word about Doc ruining this team; be sure to place all the blame on God Emperor Jerry West.
You can't have it both ways.
...well, you can, and I'm sure you all will try...just know that I'll be hear to call you on it.
Carry on.

Re: Milos Teodosic signs 2year/12.3mil deal
Congrats to Teo for this signing, others were ready to pay him more but this move showed his character. He will just try to compete and his choice was to have some fun along with it. Good job Milosh , you just couldn't found a better city. (go easy on the night life)
This came like a real surprise for most of his fans, including me, but I feel he is trying to in-circle his career after going from hot to cold and back to the start or the end. I am concern about his transition to NBA tho , so I can only wish him good luck with hopes that he will be able to show and prove his true talent and value .

Re: Milos Teodosic signs 2year/12.3mil deal
Hey all. Great signing. I am Serbian and have watched live Milos at the European championship for under 18 year olds some 12 years ago:) A lot of different opinions on General board and here about his game so as an expert in all things Teodosic since he is my favorite player for 10 years now I will tell you the truth:)
First off his defense is mediocre to bad. It is not the worst in the world, and I will say it is better then Hardens:) He has solid rebounding, good post defense. When locked in (important games, especially for the national team) he is not atrocious in getting stuck in blocks or even staying in front of his man, but those two are his biggest weaknesses. His team defense has improved a lot last 2 years. All in all, he is not the defensive stopper and will not be able to guard Westbrooks and Hardens of the NBA (just like no one can) but he will be acceptable most nights. Him guarding the two and Beverly the one is a great option, especially since there is so much more talent at he point guard position, and with his height Milos is better suited for the two defensively.
Second thing is that he comes into the NBA as one of 3 best pure passers from the getgo. And it is not hyperbole (Jokic and Rubio being the other two). He IS a better passer then CP3. Don't be defensive about it, it does not mean that he is a better overall player, but the pinpoint accuracy and vision that he has, no other playmaker in the NBA has. More then half of the NBA assists in the NBA are handing it off to a shooter, or passing into the post where the big is making two/three more dribbles and fakes before he scores. The numbers are inflated. In Europe you really have to earn your every assist. And no one earns them more then Teodosic. The amazing thing is that in the last 3-4 years he has learned to play off ball, not needing it all the time in his hand, and not needing to dominate it, all the while still making incredible plays.
Third part is his shooting. He is a good shooter, but I think worse then his numbers show. He has a quick and high release so he won't have a problem getting it up, he has the range, but he is streaky. When he gets cold he gets really cold, and when he gets hot he is on fire. So don't expect a steady sharp shooter, but more of a streaky shooter who uses his shooting to a degree to make the defense play closer to him which opens the door for many of his assists. Rubio is an amazing passer, but he would be even better if the defense needed to play closer to him and be afraid of his three point shot. This is what you get with Milos.
I have to address something that you could have read in the GB from some guy named Mirotic about how he is the biggest chucker ever. This is bs. He is strange and can't be put in a box, as pure chucker or clutch. The thing is he has been the best player for his team on the court in any competition for 8 years straight. So when he plays bad in an important game everyone notices, and when he plays good it is expected. And he is 50/50 in that regard. With the addition that he has been more clutch then chocker for his national team Serbia, and more chocker then clutch for CSKA. But even that chocker part can be dissected. By being the best player on the team, the defense always becomes much tougher on him, because they know he is the brain of the team. And in Europe it is much easier to stop a player since the court is smaller, rules are different, and there are less players who can take over in ISO. Even the best NBA teams go for ISO plays for their last shots since they know it is hard to make a complex action in those minutes. And Teodosic can't do that so he sometimes vanishes in those minutes. But he has had a lot of games that he won last minute, or by making amazing plays in the last minutes. So very unfair.
So as a comparison I would maybe go with "poor mans" Nash, with the poor mans having to do with streakier shooting (but good still, just not Nash good) and less speed to penetrate, but arguably he is at least as good of a passer if not even slightly better and a better rebounder and post defender. I know Americans always laugh at the idea that a player from Europe can have anything best in the world, but you will see (IF the team excepts him and moves, and not just wait for iso plays) that there are very few in players in history who have comparable passing to Milos. We are taling Magic, Bird, Maravich level. Shaping up to be a very good team, and with good team chemistry Teodosic, Beverly, Gallo, Griffin and DJ is a great starting line up.

Re: Milos Teodosic signs 2year/12.3mil deal
Teodosic is AWFUL defensive player. Yeah, its true that he play D with more passion when its very important (like finish of the Olympics semifinal game or something like that
), but he also often spent time on bench on defensive possesions (with CSKA) in crucial moments of the game. 1 on 1 defensivelly, he is really really bad. Its not just due to his lack of athleticism, it looks like he doesnt want to play defense, like he is lazy.
Offensively, as you probably already see, Teodosic is wizard. His passing is CRAZY. When i see some of his assists, i cant realize how he did it, even after watching replay. He sees everything on the floor, if any player is open (or gonna be open) he will assist to him no metter how much hard is to do it. He is also pick n roll MAESTRO. I mean, you dont need to believe me, guys like Beverley (who played with Teo) or Quin Snyder (he was assistant coach in CSKA) said that he is probably best passer in the world...not to mention some high level basketball journalists from USA who watched him a lot and they are telling same - he is one of best passers in the world, if not the best.
Biggest problem offensively for him will be getting close to the rim for layups, he will need help from DeAndre & Blake with screens. When i mention screens, i could say that he is great in shooting after screens, both from long 2 point and 3 point line.
Playing in transition with him on court is crazy. And LAC is playing really fast, so its should be another great contribution to this team from Teo. Really like that he is great fit on this LAC rosters, probably better then on any other team in NBA.
His shooting is very very good. Yeah, he could be described as streaky shooter sometimes, but he is shooting contested shoots, from hard positions, basically he took hardest shoots . Here in NBA, defense will not be focused on him as in Europe so he will probably have even more space for shooting. In last 3 year in Euroleague Teodosic shoots over 40% from 3 on 6.8 attempts per game. His career percent is about 38%. Thats big numbers considering how often he shoots (6.8 attempts in 25-26 minutes per game). NBA range should not be problem because he often shoots half metter behind European 3point line (6.75m) which is basically like shooting from NBA 3 points line (7.24m).
Personality - he is one of the most competitive players that i ever seen. Winning is REALLY IMPORTANT to him. Altrough some people talks BS about his personality (he is arrogant or whatever) his former coaches always speak about him as great guy. Dont know what his relationship would be with Doc (i dont like him at all
) but it should be ok.
How his game will translate into NBA is much about what role he will play. He needs ball in his hands, not all the time, but if you want to maximize his strengts he will need to create on court. DeAndre and Blake will catch hundreds of lobs during the season
He could also play off-ball, as a spot-up shooter or secondary playmaker on court. Its good thing that Beverley already knew him, so as Gallinari (dont know if they met personally, but Gallo know for sure who is Teo and how great player he is). DeAndre obviously also know him
Considering all, signing Teo at 2 year 6M per year deal is GREAT JOB. He had some better offers both from NBA and Euroleague teams, dont know why he choose LAC (maybe because its Los Angeles, symple as that, after living in Belgrade, Athens and Moscow you dont wanna to live in Chicago or Minneapolis
). He could became steal of this free agency if he shows up as i predict, but even if he had troubles with NBA style of the game, he will anyway be useful from bench. Potentially you get above average starting point guard with best basketball vision in the world...for 6M per year. Only by considering that posibility, this deal looks cheap.

Anyone else really want Teo to somehow win Rookie of the Year (he's technically eligible) just to see LaVar Ball's meltdown?
