Trade Morris to Boston in some kind of a deal that nets us Marcus Smart. Our D would be unreal and wouldn't let up.

I don't get Morris and never will get Morris. I have no idea why he exists. A PF who doesn't rebound is as bad as a SG who can't S.

I have no idea who he could help, much less give us value back. I thought maybe Philly, who need a shooter and are looking to offload Thybulle, but with Danny Green's $10M gone I dunno if there's a salary match there.

Fact is, we're so far over the cap, and Ballmer's bottomless pockets are so far into the lux tax, that dumping Mook's $15M makes no difference, so we might as well keep him. :dontknow:

FYI - Nerlens Noel traded to Detroit... still have that Ibaka trade exception...

OK, it's only for one year, but if it gets him and us a ring, yay

The Clipper Curse is over when we made the WCF a year ago. If its about winning a championship then half the league is cursed

Luv this move.. seemed fairly aligned to happen

Wall will benefit on both ends of the floor here at this time in his career.. he should still be good enough to make an impact.

He won't have the pressure or load given the other wings and creators on the team, and he'll be super motivated on a strong team.

I would love to see him have fun again and play with a chip on his shoulder on this team. Defensively I think he could really be a menace and have some special plays.

Wall
George
Kawhi
Powell
Jackson
Mann
Kennard
Batum (he'll be back, little doubt)
Covington

Team is gonna be deep! Thats 9 guys who all will be reliable as a group to get things done and with force.

Also would not be surprised to see Center get upgraded and 1-2 wings go out.

i'm definitely curious to see how he'll play on a team where he'll have zero expectation of carrying the team and scoring load.

while i'm hopeful he can do some things on defense, i'm gonna go ahead and set my expectations low. but i do think he's going to be big for us keeping the offense moving on a team where we have a lot of mouths to feed.

what will be interesting is how the team begins to handle lineups IF he can play the defense he was once capable of (or some decent version of that) - because if that's the case now he's imminently more valuable than reggie and would probably be a much better fit with the starters and/or the team's best lineups.

I wouldn't use that as a means to say a player looks good, but he's young, he's a professional with tools to keep in shape and fit, and he seems hungry, so I would expect him to look good.

An NBA player dunking a basketball is not proof they look good.

I'm excited to bring him into the fold but let's keep some perspective here.

So if you compare John Wall's 20/21 stats with Reggie Jackson's stats last year, they are pretty close in both efficiency and total output (and hey both are similar age, have had injury issues, and joining the team after buyout...) And we all know Reggie got stretched way beyond his means, and is far more capable in a smaller more targeted role.

My prediction is that the same will go for John Wall. If he signs here he knows he's not playing 30 MPG. I don't care whether it ends up 40/60, 50/50, 60/40, I think he will really enjoy being on the floor with good and great basketball players, and in his role be a key part of the team's success. Their skillsets are not exactly the same but that's a good thing.

If he wants a much bigger role, I'd think he'd sign with another team.

I really wish Kawhi had some type of social media presence. Even if it was rare but he does show up on his family IG account

I'm kind of excited actually. As much as I love Reggie, he was playing way too many minutes because of injuries. If he splits time with a hopefully healthy and well rested Wall, things could become very interesting at the one. Can't be any worse than the Reggie-Bledsoe pairing...

Pretty excited to see what he looks like next to PG and Kawhi and if he anchors the 2nd unit.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

Don't know who you're referring to but with Wall on the team, Reggie should be anchoring the second unit.

I like the 2 years!

If he had agreed to sign for minimum, it would surely have been only for 1 year. I think getting the second year at low rate is a low risk, high reward move.
