Talk about glue guy, he's actually going to be a key guy for this team, guard multiple positions, he can make open shots, make energy plays, willing to push or run in transition, low turnovers, make the right pass.

Diabate put in 10 very serviceable minutes at minus-5 while we were making a 15-point comeback. 2 points, 2 rebounds. Let's not get carried away just yet.

KAWHI was the role player. The year he won the Finals MVP, he averaged only 12.8 ppg in the regular season, the 3rd leading scorer behind Parker and Duncan.

Yea, exactly, but I think Wammy was talking about when Kawhi became a scoring force and star, but he had Aldridge those seasons

My thoughts were more in line when Duncan, Parker and Ginobili were still there, the Good Samaritan Spurs who played for the good of basketball and not let personal emotions or distractions get in the way of business. He was technically a role starter, somebody who puts up role player numbers, but is only effective when starting. San Antonio was more or less a role player team, their players were mostly homegrown, never chasing superstars or creating super teams, just good ol' fashion fundamental basketball sans highlight reel plays, egos or vengeance. Spurs are the moral compass of the NBA; when something goes wrong like the Sterling scandal, the first NBA lockout, or the Malice At The Palace, they come through to remind us what basketball is truly about.

And the Clippers have forgotten all of that. All they care about is money, power, and respect, and the way they do it is shortsighted, directionless and often times fueled by jealousy. The hope was that, by taking away the super team angle, George, Harden and Westbrook would get an up close view of how to play as a team properly. Role players are more receptive to following orders than superstars are. All three of them used to come off the bench before becoming fully acclimated to their roles. Take that away from them, and maybe they'll remember what it was like to earn it. Leonard gets a pass because of his championships and Finals MVPs; the other super stars have done nothing except lose, deflect blame, and protect their images.

Remember, the best iteration of Clippers we've ever seen was the Revenge Of The Role Players, the 2018-19 season where they made the playoffs without an All-Star on the roster, and still took two games away from the Warriors in a series that was thought to be a foregone conclusion. Clippers have to stop pretending to be something they're not.

Awful way to close the half.

Dumb turnovers.

That call will get overturned will PG getting the foul.

Westbrook when on the floor with Harden is also operating as a catch and shoot in the corner often. Problem with that is defense sags way off and the paint is clogged. There is no spacing for Harden to work. If Westbrook has it then Harden is in the same situation. But he’s not a catch and shoot player. Yet. Tucker can’t make a shot anymore and he’s slowed. It’s apparent now even more than last year. Not sure why Clippers took him honestly. It’s going to take major sacrifices and relearning roles to make this work. That has to be figured out by the players internally. They wanted it though and for that reason I think we have to give it several games. I still stand by the 20 game mark though because there was zero games played by this group before the trade with Harden literally no games at all.

This is true Love for Harden

You’ve been apologetic for Harden first on the Nets board , then Sixers board , now here on the Clippers board

Wake up Harden was washed up bum 3 years ago while on the Nets , don’t lie to this guys that there is no spacing for Harden to work , it’s a baloney, this guy is great at alienating locker rooms , and that’s already visible how poor Clippers play now compared to before the trade

Damn you are a persistent hater aren’t you. I shouldn’t even respond but I can’t help it. What I said makes sense on a basketball level because it is going to take time to mesh these 4 players. That’s was a given. There is a spacing issue when Westbrook and Harden are on the floor together. That’s a fact and not debatable. The teams game plan is to keep it out of stars hands by leaving him open.

I thought PG was awful to close out the half. Turnovers, fouls, missed opportunities on the break away, and missed shots.

I think he is really hurting this team.

Ty Lue is such a overrated coach. LeBron won chip for him in his first season and his results have been disappointing ever since.

George's minutes sparked the comeback, so no he's not really hurting the team considering the Harden/Kawhi minutes have been awful so far. Yea, he wasn't anywhere close to perfect, but far from hurting the team unless we just want to criticize him for the sake of doing so.

4 bad turnovers in a half and hes not even the point guard. THe offensive foul on the break was a killer trying to be too cute.

It’s the Grizzlies on our home court too so there’s that.
Why was Norm subbed in at the end of the 2nd? His defense
PG when he’s making shots we’re looking good. But he was equally bone headed.
