I would trade Mobley and Thomas to New Jersey for Vince Carter. Carter's ability to play the two and three would open up playing time for Eric Gordan. Carter could get 25 ppg with the Clippers and I could see Eric Gordan getting 12-13 ppg off the bench in 20-25 minutes.

Carter's ability to also shoot from anywhere on the floor at any time under any situation would take shots away from the other guys too.

I'd like to explore trading Thomas for an intangible guy like Joe Smith (expiring contract). OKC would probably never do it unless we added a 1st and even then we'd probably still have to include cash for a Thomas buyout. A deal like that is something I'd like to explore.

So you are okay with two more years of losing, just to wait for 2010 and maybe somebody will sign with the Clippers? Thats a big maybe. By that time, a lot of the fans might give up on the team and even though it is Los Angeles, playing for the Clippers may not be very appealing to free agents after a couple of 20 win seasons.

Trade Idea with you guys

Post#46 » by legacyinthemakin89c » Tue Nov 11, 2008 5:16 pm

If the rumors are true that you guys are looking to trade Kaman, do you think a Kaman and Hart for Sheed deal would work. I think it helps both teams. If the Clips really do want to move Kaman, they get a good big man to pair with Camby. Sheed and Camby are almost perfect compliments to each other. Sheed moves back to his original position of power forward. You guys also get a huge expiring contract, with, I don't know the specifics, but would put you guys far enough under the cap to get a solid free agent to put with Davis and Camby.

Kaman gives Detroit a guy who will play in the post and can get them easy buckets. He can't hit the outside shot like Sheed, but if we wanted that, we wouldn't be looking to move Sheed. This also won't hurt Detroit's cap that much because Kaman's contract isn't terrible and we would still be far enough under the cap to go after a guy like Boozer.

Do you think this is a trade you guys would be interested in if Kaman is guaranteed to go?

On the Bulls board a lot of posters would love to have a shot at Kaman. The most commonly discussed ideas revolve around Drew Gooden plus either Tyrus Thomas or Joakim Noah for Kaman, and we could add Thabo Sefalosha or Cedric Simmons if either were desired.

Gooden's a $7.5 million expiring contract and is probably a 14/10 or 15/10 player alongside Baron. Doesn't play very good defense, but can play that mediocre defense at either the 4 or the 5. You could drop his salary after he expires and save $7.5 million toward 2010, or else re-sign him if he does super-well for you this year. Gooden also just turned 27, so he probably has a bunch of good years in him.

Tyrus and Noah will both be on inexpensive contracts for several years, Noah for a year longer.

Clips:
Baron/ Taylor/ Hart
Mobley/ Gordon/ Thabo
Thornton/ Davis/ Thabo
Gooden/ Noah or Tyrus
Camby/ Gooden/ Noah or Tyrus/ Skinner

Bulls
Rose/ Hinrich
Gordon/ Hinrich/ Hughes
Deng/ Nocioni
Noah or Tyrus/ Nocioni
Kaman/ Noah or Tyrus/ Gray

I'd do a deal of Mobley for Jamal Crawford. It was something talked about during the summer. We'd be picking up an extra year on Crawford's deal but we get a desperately needed pg. Mobley just hasn't done anything for us this year.

No thinaks. We don't want Rasheed. If we're trading Kaman the deal has to be a lot better than this.

Sheed is on the wrongside of 30. If anything we would go after Boozer just like yall.

No thanks, and there's a trade thread on the top for use rather than starting new threads.

Yeah, Sheed has no place on this team due to his age. Plus, I wouldn't give Kaman straight up for Sheed anyways.

Just wondering but how well has camby been playing? I just could see a Lee/Curry for Camby trade end up going down and since Curry isn't playing and Lee has been surpassed by Ill Will this trade really is dependent on how well camby has looked. I think it makes sense for you guys as lee fits an up tempo offense at the 4 and would compliment Kaman very well and Curry would give you size and scoring prowess off the bench. if necessary I could envision this being expanded to include craw for mobley as well, although I'd imagine at that point walsh would ask for DeAndre Jordan, in which case we'd offer Malik Rose's expiring contract for Tim Thomas.

maybe with Kaman loking to be traded maybe this deal would help both teams.

OKC trades PF/C Nick Collison and SG/SF Wilkens

CLIPPERS trade Chris Kaman

Return to Los Angeles Clippers
