Gerald Wallace seems like he won't opt in for final year with the Nets.

He would be perfect for us, and just what we need. Pretty good defender, crashes the boards, and is pretty good at driving to the hoop, something we have sorely lacked with Butler. How can we clear capspace by trading away Butler + Mo?

Adding Ray Allen + Gerald Wallace would be an amazing free agency. I would hope Neil will have somethign up his sleeve to get rid of Mo and Butler.

Arnovitz is a Clipper guy, so not surprising that he's riding with the team. Interesting to see both Ford and Hollinger, although Hollinger has seemed to be a believer of this team lately. I cannot stand Arash Markazi, and his prediction does nothing but make that feeling stronger.

I'm excited for this offseason. There are going to be a lot of players available via trade, free-agency and amnesty. We're at a point where we should start getting discounts from players looking to hop aboard a favorable situation. Wallace can be a nice addition to most teams, but I don't think we're a likely destination at this point. If Mo opts out and Gomes is amnestied, then a lot of things can be possible. Allen would be great. Jamison could be interesting (and inexpensive) and it doesn't hurt that he has played with Butler.

Butler is overpaid and looks nowhere near where he was at the start of the season, but I think we're stuck with him for at least another season. He'll be an $8M expiring beginning in the summer of 2013 and the 2014 free-agency is already being heralded as being better than 2010. LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Anthony, Stoudemire, Bargnani will all have ETO's. Rudy Gay, Zach Randolph can opt out. Kobe, Pau Gasol, Deng, Granger, Nowitzki, Pierce, Bogut and Gortat will all be unrestricted. Isaiah Thomas may be restricted.

I know the season isnt over, but are we waiting til we win the title (or you know, get eliminated) for the off season thread?

It's quite an odd feeling, that of course I am pumped we're in the playoffs, but I am super interested to see how we play the off season and what happens with Mo.

Anybody is free to make an offseason thread if they choose to ;) ;) .

It's going to be busy for this team. We don't really have the draft to look forward to. We did win a tiebreaker with Atlanta so we should have the 52nd pick in the 2nd round lol. Paul (and possibly Blake) will be involved in the Olympics. There's the whole Billups situation with his rehab and the contract. Neil's going to have his hands full with deciding who to re-sign, who to dump and who to pursue. It should be exciting to see how it all unfolds. Also I'm interested in finding out how each player is going to train. Bledsoe, Thompkins and Leslie should all head to Vegas for the Summer League. Bledsoe needs to be spending as much time as possible with Paul, Billups and Pack that he possibly can. Some guys need to give Hakeem a call and so on.

And Griffin has quietly been adding to his game as well. Griffin has gone from hitting 33 percent of his 16-23 foot jumpers last season, to 37 percent this season. More importantly, he has made 50-102 of his mid-range jumpers, 49 percent, in the last 25 games.

That's 49% on 4.1 jumpshots a game! I really hope this improved mid-range shooting can continue into the post-season. Blake has looked extremely confident with his jumpshot down the stretch of the season, and that could be huge.

I'm sure most of you already know about or have seen Derrick Rose go down with a knee injury against the Sixers earlier today. My initial thought is that he should not have been in the game at that point. There was a double digit lead with 1:30 to go, so why would Thibs risk injury to his star player? On the flip side of things, a couple of forced turnovers and quick 3 point plays (although very unlikely) could have put Philly back in it. 37+ mins in a playoff game would be required of Rose more often than not. It's very easy to place blame, but it was a freak injury any way you look at it.

With his knee going out on him with no contact is pretty scary, but you would think that means that it could have happened at any time. He was able to put some weight on it while being helped off of the court. He'll have an MRI later today. I hope that it's not as serious as it looks.

Nice! I was looking at his shooting numbers last night on hoopdata.com. At first, you had to wonder if it was a fluke, but he's maintained it game after game. He's looking more confident in his shot. Even though he has still struggled, his free-throws are looking better. With 3 full days off in between the end of the season and the 1st game of the playoffs, I'm hoping that he's logged some serious time on his free-throw shooting as well as the mid-range j.

Pretty bad for Rose, but I wouldn't blame Thibs, he just wanted Rose to get a good feel for the game since he hasn't had a lot of playing time this year with his injuries.

Iman Shumpert went down with a scary looking non-contact injury as well. No word on the severity yet.

Something like that could have happened at any time. Torn ACL. That really sucks. With it happening so late in the season, he'll probably miss a chunk of next season and may not be 100% until the following season.

Shumpert with a torn ACL as well.

I just hope Chris and the rest of the team take good care of themselves and know their limitations.

I hope every team has a healthy run from here on out. I feel for everyone involved. Rose has dealt with injuries all season. His team was a moderate contender this season, but this injuries is almost certain to kill those hopes for the team and their fans. It also takes a way from Rose using the experience to grow as a player as he continues to strive for the most important achievement in this league. The fans are robbed out of seeing the best of the best play in what could have been an epic ECF.

Shumpert, it just sucks to see the guy go down in his very first playoff game. He didn't play all that great, but he shouldn't have been cheated out of the experience. He didn't really have a proper rookie introduction to the league, and now he's going to be spending the offseason rehabbing. :nonono:

The last 2 games of the night. Wow! I say wow for two different reasons. Orlando beats Indiana in Indiana without Howard. I never would have guessed that. I really don't have any words for that.

The finish of the OKC and Dallas game was very exciting. If Dallas could have stolen the first one, then you have to like their chances to take the series. Ibaka came up huge for OKC, he hit a 3, blocked some crucial shots, hit his free-throws and dropped 22 points. Durant wasn't efficient, but hit the most important shot of the night. One thing that is encouraging for other teams regarding OKC is that 94 of their 99 points were scored by Durant, Harden, Westbrook and Ibaka. The other 5 by Sefolosha. In nearly 67 combined mins, the other players failed to score a point. Ibaka scoring 20+ is very rare. In my eyes, if you can slow down or stop one of their big 3, you can take it from them.

I don't feel one bit bad for Bulls fans. I feel bad that I was robbed of at least watching a competitive ECF, and for Rose the player. He will never be the same again.

As far as the last two games, Indiana vs Orlando was just pretty funny, but awful basketball. Granger mr. tough guy really dropped the ball for them BIG TIME. And what was up with Collison taking that shot?

The western conference is still by far THE BEST. As soon as the WC game started, sh*t got real. As much as I dislike Jason Terry and his idiocy, dude was ON last night. I must admit my heart was pulling for Dallas a bit, but man what an entertaining game.

He'd be wise to make some changes to his game. He needs to look into improving his shooting, defense and playmaking. He may not be at the exact physical level he was in before, but probably still better than most provided he has a successful rehab. Rounding out his game and becoming less reliant on the athletic side of his play could make him a better player despite the injury, but he'll have his work cut out for him.

People need to learn that whatever you're hitting is probably going to win. I remember Quinton Ross hitting the goal post out of frustration a few years back and injuring his hand. Don't punch or kick anything, it just adds injury to insult.

WoW! LOL that's wrong, but hilarious.

I don't know what the hell was going through Amar'e's head. The Knicks were already struggling as it was and he pulls this. Go down fighting on the court not against a fire extinguisher. Throw a chair or something, kick a kitten  , but don't go punching glass.

Tyson Chandler supposedly wins DPOY. Would have rather seen Serge Ibaka win it.
