Trade deadline is officially over, but the announcement of trades may still trickle out over the next 30 mins or so.

Re: Trade Discussion Part 3 (News, Rumors & Ideas)
The Mavs getting Noel for two seconds and a meh prospect in Anderson kinda makes you think if they'd accept Austin + 2nds for him. Then we coulda tried to get into the Paul George conversation with DJ and a pick
We couldn't have gotten Tucker as we don't have any expiring contracts. All things equal they'd rather have Sullinger than Wes.

Actually, Sofia, I think Doc is not going to tinker with the roster anymore. He'll definitely keep the team as is. The 15 guys that are on the Clippers will all be in the playoffs (except for the rookies, who'll be inactive).

So we did nothing?
We have our heads in the sand if we think this roster will get out of the WCF.
The only positive is that CP3 appears to want to resign, giving Doc a few more chances to stop ruining this team.

That statement that Chris and Blake, and now JJ, are committed to re-signing is BS. Nothing is done until the contracts are fully signed (See DJ last year). Our success this off-season will depend on how we do this post-season. If we get to our goal of the the Western Conference Final, or better, I think we can re-sign all 3. If we fall short, we are going to have a tough off season and possibly lose all 3. I like our chances of doing well this off-season, because it looks like we will be healthy, we should have decent match ups for the first 2 rounds, and we will be underdogs. Go Clippers.

Tbh we have our heads in the sand if we thought we were going to make a trade with the assets we have which would make us as the 4th seed any better at beating GS in the second round than we are right now

Could we / would we want to get Omri Casspi? I've always thought he was good. Or is bass playing too well to warrant another bench PF?

I don't think it's worthless BS, tbh. They could have easily said, "I have to weigh my options, do what's best for my family, we'll see what happens in the off-season, I'm just focused on playing." It's just a good sign is all but nothing is set in stone. The fact that they are leaning towards staying as their preference says a lot about how far this franchise has come. It wasn't so long ago that restricted free agents begged the Clippers to not match their contract sheets.

nothing is set in stone and things can change, but obviously a verbal commitment is far better for the team than a straight up no.

Re: Transaction Discussion Part 3 (Trades, Free-Agency, News, Rumors & Ideas)
Maybe I'm just too damn old but I hate the talk of breaking up our core. Did anyone push to break up Stockton and Malone? As long as Doc is here we won't be playing young players so there is no chance of us tanking to get a high pick (assuming we even have a pick) What would we gain by letting one of them walk? I like that I have been able to root for the only team to have home court advantage in the first round each of the last 4 or 5 years. I spent too many years watching teams play that didn't come close to a 20 win season. Why would I want to do that again?

let me do you a favor and tell you it's not your being too old. it's just common sense not to break up this core.
