Don't see how that makes sense for us on any level. Terrible contract, terrible attitude, can't stay healthy, and we'd have to gut our team to trade for him.

Does Lou Will plus non-guarantees of Patton and Noah's salary nunbers (and Mfi if need be) get us in the ballpark for either Rozier or Dinwiddie?

Would rather see the MLE (or partial) go to Ibaka, Baynes, TT, or even Boogie Cousins over Rondo.

I rather get dinwiddie or make a trade with San Antonio spurs for one of those points guard

Either way, this is bad moves the front office is making. I get that we want this player, but at this rate, we might be losing Kawhi and paul George next season. I think that if we don't go to the finals this year, then they might be gone.

I feel that we would have a great chance to resign both of them even if we didn't make the Finals imo. PG is definitely not leaving unless we trade him and Kawhi knows he has unfinished business with us and its time to make good on his move here. We gotta get him the point guard that he wants right now but our chances are good that they're staying. Deep pocket Ballmer isn't going to let this team fall into despair. If they were to leave best believe he'll have another star lined up to come to LA.

-Also free agent wise I don't feel like we're failing in free agency. A pg and another big and we're set. Lakers lost DHoward and Green- they're downgraded imo. Denver lost Grant and he was huge for them in the bubble. We're still on course. Doc is gone and we're getting rid of the turncoats and clowns.

I sure hope that you are right. This is kind of nerve wracking to see other teams getting better before our eyes.

I'm only looking at the West coast teams that's in our division.. To me the teams that actually got better were the Suns and the Blazers which could put them on par with us. The Lakers and Nuggets made lateral moves imo.

Yeah, I think we’re trying to figure out a way to get Ibaka and Rondo but each want the full MLE. Ultimately I think we give Rondo the full MLE and get a cheaper backup big like Baynes or Thompson. I really hope we take a flier on Cousins.

I can go along with that, but should we pay the full max for rondo? Who else is left for point guard that is a free agents or trade?

I don’t think we have a choice, I don’t see any other free agent options out there who would move the needle for us (I’m not 100% sure Rondo would either). Maybe there’s a Lou Will trade to make.

Basically. Rondo gives us what we need, a facilitating PG and primary ball handler. With Dunn and Augustine off the board, there really is no other PG left, barring a trade or going Euro/GLeague. I mean, looking at FA, it's down too:

Jeff Teague - not really a facilitator, but is an experienced and battle tested vet that isn't a defensive sieve and has an okay, albeit, inconsistent jumper

Tyler Johnson - more of a two guard, redundant with Lou Gotti

Matthew Delladova - meh, solid for 5-15 regular season minutes

Austin Rivers - no one here wants him

Reggie Jackson - I actually would love him back on the min, nothing more

Jordan McLaughlin - he's a RFA, would need to overpay, but if we can split the MLE between him and Ibaka/Thompson/Noel, I'd be ecstatic

Jevon Carter/Cam Payne: same as McLaughlin

Yogi Ferrall: Redundant with Lou

Bryn Forbes; San Antonio product, wouldn't mind him

Shabazz Napier: not with Lou

Emmanuel Mudiay: No thanks

Then, you got someone like Jawun Evans, who I wouldn't mind bringjng back, but he doesn't fill what we need.

Honestly, I wouldn't be shocked if Mann absorbed the backup PG minutes

New Priority - Passing And Point Forwards

Post#448 » by Wammy Giveaway » Sat Nov 21, 2020 9:32 pm

Clippers have lost out on all point guards. What they should do now is find a shooting guard, forward or center whose specialty or hidden ability includes passing. They need to find a Boris Diaw/Lamar Odom type of player.

$15 million is too much when he sucks in the regular season, and knowing the Clippers' luck, we wouldn't have gotten "Playoff Rondo" either.

I'm not sure why the Hawks signed him AND Dunn, though. Doesn't make much sense for them either.

Dunn is going to be a defending shooting guard starting next to Trae Young to defend the best opposing guard every night.

Clippers are in win now, they should of paid that easily for Rondo. There’s not much left on the open market except for Jeff Teague, Payton, Thomas, Napier, Jackson

There is no way we were giving Rondo that deal.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.

We are going to lose kawhi Leonard and Paul George after this season because this franchise doesn't care about winning

You have to wonder if a fire sale in the spring and an organizational housecleaning in the summer is an option Ballmer is holding open by not taking on any odious contracts. [The Marcus Morris signing being the only hole so far in this theory.] Do you hope that Kawhi stays put despite a treading water season?

Or do you go full Hail Mary and get Westbrook and poison the sal cap for years to come? These are Ballmer's options--none of them good.

Why are people losing their minds 24 hours into free agency? This is lunacy.

Man, all this negativity. This FO has shown to be among the best in the league and it's going to take a whole lot more than losing a net negative backup and backup PG target for me to quit on them.

Only loss that really stung was JMyke but that's more due to fan bias than anything.
