Re: Doc out!!!!!!!!!
Attitude reflects leadership, bad coaching isn't just on the court, it's also the locker room...Doc was too focused on raa raa to get that under control

Same with the Nets--too many agendas. Coach can't fix that...except maybe with that rah rah shi*t...

Re: Doc out!!!!!!!!!
Nets are a unique situation because they took on two knuckleheads, then, swapping one for another.
But there also aren't people calling Nash a good coach, like there is doc.

They're ALL "unique situations." But Harden's fat suckitude and Ben Simmons cowardice-laziness-mental illness is at the center of both teams' ills, not the coach.
I certainly am challenging the narrative that always blames the coach for the players' failures. Or the Front Office's. And Lob City destroyed itself. They know it...now.

After they finally blew it up, Doc promptly took a team of no-names to the playoffs. And the next year Kawhi and PG acted like the King and Queen of England until they got their asses WAXED in the Bubble.

Different players, different front offices, same coach, 31 chokejobs and counting in potential closeout games.
You could blame players and GMs if he had, like, one or two of those in his career. 31 chokejobs is 100% on the coach whether you want to accept it or not.

Re: Doc out!!!!!!!!!
that is not valid argument
correlation is not cause [freshman logic]
how many coaches even made the playoffs 18 times [out of 22 full seasons]??
and how many coaches have 100 playoff wins [101-96]?? [answer: Five.][Five--Out of literally hundreds.]
thanks for parroting the current internet narrative but it's a bullshi*it stat
the Sixers will go as far as one player takes them

You were completely right as well as the users that say Doc likes to Politics to clean up his image so he can hide how bad of a coach he is in the public eye. In reality, the guy just really cares about himself. He doesn't care who he throws underneath the bus as long it protect his ass. I can't stand the dude.

INCREDIBLE that you are still defending doc

Gotta give it up man. Doc is a mid coach. He can take an average team to the playoffs. A better version of nate mcmillan since he's won a ring, but when it comes to teams having championship aspirations, he's failed most of the time. He does not know how to manage superstars.

What gets me is how sloppy the excuses are. He's not even trying anymore, just flat-out lying about everything and hoping nobody remembers the truth or bothers looking it up on Google. Just about everything he said in that diatribe was either a lie or highly misleading.

OK, fine. He's a middling coach. With 100 playoff wins. I disagree with the narrative he's a poor one. I disagree with the narrative that blames him and not his players. When you make the playoffs EIGHTEEN TIMES, it's not gonna be all roses.
Rivers bristled on Wednesday when quizzed by reporters about his history of playoff near-misses ahead of Thursday's game six in Toronto.
"Well, it's easy to use me as an example," Rivers said. "But I wish y'all would tell the whole story with me. All right?
"My Orlando team was the eighth seed. No one gives me credit for getting up against the Pistons, who won the title.
"That was an eighth seed. I want you to go back and look at that roster. I dare you to go back and look at that roster.
"And you would say, 'What a hell of a coaching job.' Really."
Rivers added that his Clippers team in 2015 was hobbled by an injury to Chris Paul, while the team that lost to Denver in 2020 were playing in the unique fan-free environment of the pandemic bubble in Orlando.
"The 2015 Clipper team that we lost 3-1, Chris Paul, didn't play the first two games, and was playing on one leg, and we didn't have home court," Rivers said.
"And then the last one (in 2020) to me, is the one we blew. That's the one I took. We blew that. And that was in the bubble.
"And anything can happen in the bubble. There's no home court. Game seven would have been in LA."
"But, it just happens. So I would say with me, some of them is ... I got to do better always. I always take my own responsibility. And then, some of it is, circumstances happen.
"This one, let's win it, and we don't have to talk about it."

Re: Doc out!!!!!!!!!
It's not hard to make the playoffs that many times when you continuously weasel your way onto teams with HOFers and you have your media buddies shielding you from accountability for your failures. He also only has one ring (arguably the least impressive ring in NBA history, at that) to show for it vs. all of the historic records he's set for choking.
That's why I don't agree that Glenn is simply a "mid" coach. When you have the most blown 3-1 leads, most blown series leads, most Game 7 losses, most Game 7 losses at home, and most losses in potential closeout games, despite coaching tons of HOFers and spending the first 14 seasons of his career in a weak conference, you aren't good enough to be "mid."

Re: Doc out!!!!!!!!!
Harden playing horrible in the playoffs doesn't make Doc's atrocious playoff coaching any better. They both are chokers and overrated.

Re: Doc out!!!!!!!!!
Harden is to playing what Doc is to coaching. Same mindset, same results, same reaction of blaming everyone and everything else for their failures. And yet Doc is still worse because he managed to choke a series away to Harden.

Isn't it weird how the roster always "sucks" wherever Doc goes? Could it be that he's just coaching those rosters down to his level?
I bet if Glenn managed to lose that Game 7 to the Hawks in '08, he'd be claiming with a straight face that Pierce, KG and Ray sucked. And you would be nodding in agreement.

And most of those 100 wins are frontloaded at the beginning of series, before the other coach makes their adjustments and leaves Glenn behind in the dust.
